"School is over" Jackie is only a junior. She has another year in school. As to "Haunting", I'm glad she's writing songs but unfortunately imho that one isn't going anywhere. It's too slow and too unemotional plus the melody is too repetitious. I do like that the lyric content is not repetitive, in fact it's very intellectual and varied so she has that going for her. But I hope she's not serious about hearing voices herself. As we all know, that way leads to madness.

IMO - I too have listened to "The Haunting" several times. At First, I thought it was an Amy Lee cover. Then I realized it is a slow tempo alternative rock song needing polishing and a good band/orchestra backing - like Evanescence and Within Temptation. The song is dark and provoking like many alternative rock/metal songs.
Jackie's voice and the way she uses it fits in this type of music.

I have been trying to think what genre Jackie needs and you have given it to me.
"Jackie's voice and the way she uses it fits in this type of music." Without question this is what she should sing. I've been a fan of Evanescence for years. Amy Lee has such a hauntingly beautiful voice and Jackie would feel right at home singing this kind of music.

The question is, "where should her career be" and I think the answer is "where-ever Jackie wants". I know that's too simplistic but it has to be up to her because she is a 16 year old(wait, almost 17) who is still learning. However, my own wishes are that she align herself more with classics, which I believe may mean that she lean in that darker direction. Speaking of that, I do wish she would re-do Dark Waltz. My greatest hope though is that she find cheerier upbeat classical stuff. Again, no matter what any of us wish for, if she needs to separate her happiness from that of her fans', I prefer she go where she is happiest.

I believe Jackie's career is were it is because 90% is her team and management and very little of what Jackie wants , she is not the person in charge by a long shot , adults are not letting her as a young teen to call the shots , why people believe she does what she wants is beyond me , I find it amusing indeed , I do think she really wanted to make GO TIME & the Guess Ad , it's elementary as a teen NOT adult love songs , o brother , please , try to think as a teen

In my view, Jackie is a very happy young lady. I see no evidence to assume otherwise, except for occasional teenage melancholy, I suppose. I'm not one who thinks she's on the wrong path with her career. Judgements are subjective according to one's own perspective and personal expectations. And, I don't believe that she's been denied the freedom to make her own choices. It seems little credit is given to Jackie by some for doing what SHE wants generally in her own way. That's what she has done all along, with guidance, encouragement and support from her family, and will continue to do so because of the persistent, imaginative and adventurous artist she is.
I don't consider her success to be measured in terms of monetary return or vast popularity, but rather by the degree to which she is gratified by having taken chances and dared to do what is in her heart. Jackie will never be without sufficient means. She's too intelligent, talented and self-determined. She is nothing if not a survivor. No artist in history has accomplished what Jackie has in the past seven years, despite those who have tried to discredit her as an artist, and those determined to thwart her ambitions with disparagement and ridicule. She has done so through perseverence with integrity and good will. I believe she will not be influenced against her principles and desires, nor will she be dissuaded from her vision, however it unfolds. Of course she may change her ideas along the way, and she will make mistakes, but only relative to her own expectations, not mine or anyone else's. Would she be the curious, risk-taking and courageous Jackie that we know, if she didn't? She has always overcome fear by meeting challenges head on with positive determination.
I admire Jackie for the person she has become. Everything she has done has been for the benefit of others. I feel privileged to have witnessed the adventure that has brought her into the hearts of so many, and I will relish whatever she offers in her journey onward.

I really enjoyed CLeonard's post which parallels my take on JE's career and future prospects. I am not a religious person but I can both appreciate and respect how JE has remained faithful to both her principles and religious faith. I believe this to be a true measure of her success and will stand her in good stead as she commences her journey into her adult life. The previous post is a refreshing read from the recurring doom and gloom prophesy that seems to find it's way back here like a bad penny.

Perhaps the question should be , where IS her career now as should is a opinion but the now and where is real and present , how are her albums selling or how are her concerts seats selling ? , make no mistake she is in show-biz to sell from AGT to now , this career is not a hobby and putting her on high pedestal is not wise mostly by adults as she may or need the younger masses to reach her dream unless it has changed . , >> to any reader here >> where IS her career machine now ? in first gear , in rest , in limbo , in time machine , in twilight , in beginning , in tune up , in neutral , in detour , in park , in Go Time .

Very good opinion insight of Jackie , wow we should make you her PR depart , you know her so well and what a high pedestal you place her on , do you live next door to her , perhaps her manager and SHE measures her success in monetary returns as she has TONS of bills to pay , i admire her for the person she was also but only you must know """Everything she has done has been for the benefit of others """ wow what a statement and i thought i knew some what of her .

Her career is no where today if one reads the facts , it is at the lowest it has ever been , numbers never lie , some fans wish to close eyes and write these greatest praises as if she is the biggest name or talent in show-biz , sorry folks but she is not yet , she knows it in both hearts , she sees the income papers , she had or has many so called show-biz friends to perhaps help her If they want to , i have always believe and still Mr Foster will or could come around after she turns 18 or so to turn on the younger fan base , the now Jackie will not get her career moving forward and upward imo , it will take a new form of a Jackie .there is a saying if it works don't change it so perhaps her Classical style is her best bet if giving up a dream for now .

No one is unaware of the facts or ignoring them, nor are they ignorant of the state of her career. The praises are not overboard but honest acknowledgement of Jackie's unique talent, her character, and her exceptional voice. Whether she's vastly famous or not, those are facts also, unless you refute them as noteworthy.

I guess you mean honest opinion , what talent ?? as a singer ? hey I can sing but not a fine voice and I have character , many members here have done many good deeds not for PR
