The market decides for entertainers, not the other way around. If you lose the interest of those who would pay to hear you, you have no career... part time or otherwise. Like I said, if Jackie is content with her declining fan base, concert draw and music sales, I'm happy for her. I just hope if she ever decides she wants more, that there will be an audience waiting. From the article linked to above: Lisa said: "... It's more like wanting her to stand on her own ability and keep the career going in that direction. And, it looks as if it is..." (emphasis mine) Jackie said: "Singing is my main goal..." From reviews of her recent concerts (three back to back in October), it appears that the attendance was a little over 300 in venues that seat 1000 and 3500 (seating for two of the three). Is this kind of sales sustainable? I don't see how you could break even. Perhaps she sings at some places for a flat fee with no expenses

Should be a better place after a G & P album , peoples expectations are higher , IF an only IF she had stayed as country singer after the Nashville Visit at 8 years old an singing a " She Knew " for the author as her voice fits the slow hunting sound of country she perhaps could be the new young Miss Swift after she left country to pop , her best is her tone of voice so she perhaps needs to match the voice an music she sings , it has to fit but will she change her voice to fit the music .

Until she parts ways with her current management philosophy, I don't think she's going to improve her numbers in concert attendance, music sales, or fan base. If she's happy with her career as it is, I'm happy for her, but if she wants a bigger career, then things will need to change... promotion is lackluster, new tracks take way too long to appear, her media presence is truly minimal. All of which contribute to the fact her concerts are small and getting smaller. I hope by the time she's 18 and can make legal decisions independently, she can find a way to launch a bigger and better career for herself. I won't forget her, but it's difficult to watch such a great talent being so marginalized. Agree and I believe she has a plan in her mind now but is lets say sitting on it till proper time , she has a good idea were an what her career can be but needs to be a Adult ,she is not rushing into the future

(1) Peter Hollens (2) The Piano Guys (3) Sungha Jung (4) Lindsey Stirling (5) Pentatonix As I know, all the artists you mentioned in your comment are full time entertainer and this buisness is their profession and nothing else. Jackie is a part time entertainer and singing is not her profession. On first hand, she is a highschool student and her hobby is, to give somtimes a concert on the weekend. Sungha Jung is 20 and was still going to school as he was doing simple covers and videos, albeit with virtuoso playing. He had millions upon millions of subscribers to his YouTube channel while still in high school. I had specifically mentioned this is my discussion, and yet you ignore the FACT that as a high school student with a fraction of the resources available to Jackie, Sungha crushed her in YouTube subscribers. Stop making excuses for Jackie that she was a part-time entertainer while going to school. Sungha was also a student making very few appearances other than in his living room and his couch. The FACT is that the use of social media for promotion and to build a fan base has been HORRIBLE. Sungha adequately demonstrated that one could be a full-time student and a part-time entertainer who rarely did formal concerts until recently and garner millions of YouTube subscribers. What it took was a dedicated effort to present a constant stream of material. Jackie never did that, and the bad results have followed.

Hi Folks, Well I've just read all this dismal stuff about Jackie's declining career etc. I would disagree that it was just a 'hobby'. You only have to look at her history to see that. Now that said it may have now declined into a 'hobby' certainly from what I've just read about her recent concert attendances. I relocated down to New Zealand a short while ago, for business purposes, a place I've been many times before. Jackie had a small fan base down here and I know a lot of her fans here locally and they all share the same concerns regarding promotional news. News that was quiet prolific not that long ago. On her website there was always lots of news about her activities. Now it all seems to be minimal. I must admit I share a lot of their disappointment in the lack of news, because there is none. I, like many others, would like to know where she is heading and the only person that can answer that is either Jackie herself or her mother, Lisa. I think we all support her intention to continue her studies because that's very important. I sincerely hope she just doesn't fade into obscurity. She is an awesome talent and should at least continue to have it promoted better than it is at the moment. Yes, a tour to Australia would satisfy a pretty large fan base down there. What a about a concert in England or France or Germany or South America etc etc. I'm not suggesting anything like one a week but maybe one every few months just to keep her image alive. All said and done it's ultimately her decision and I hope she can appease her global fans before they also fade away. Amigo.

I want to post this comment from a Jackie fan who shall remain nameless unless he sees it and wants to expand on it;
"Jackie hasn't done the math and had an unbiased opinion of what the audience wants... the closed group that is the E Team does not want to hear what fans have to tell them. The target audience has no voice and she is suffering in the pocket because of the narrow view of things given her by her trusted advisers and family only. Again IMO only but nothing much has changed since she started except the numbers are dropping at all her concerts, not bringing them in like she used to."

Her career is at where her complete team has put her , they could care less about the thoughts of fans or social media sites , they allow her to do a little to promote but no real connects , on Jackies' Instagram site she follows only the rich and famous , few if any common people that follow her , her first pick to follow was a former husband of Mr Fosters , a Mahomed Hadid , he has worn his nails of colors , in my opinion one will not see or know the real Jackie till after 18 , her management is where and why she is disappearing before your eyes , I see no up side in sight yet

Surely there must be something you still get from being a fan, more than simply sharing with the world your despair over the direction of her career, that is.

Does anybody know under what label Two Hearts will be released on March 31, 2017? I hope she has a lot to say as to content, marketing and genre. With her doing on-line school, it will free her to book a lot more press as well as concerts and a real tour. I think that the SSB has really helped her image and expanded her fan base. The new album with her 'real' pop voice is going to be eagerly awaited by all her fans from way back. Her interview with bubba yesterday may be her start to get radio play on her pop as well as CC.
It appears as if all the flack she took for singing at the inauguration was worth it. Big time name recognition now.

Many fans have advocated a “pop” career for Jackie, but Josh Grobin was faced with a similar decision in his career. In an interview with Dan Rather, The Big Interview, Josh explains why he chose to sing “pop” with a classical style. His voice was not suited for standard “pop” music. If you get a chance to view it on AXS, you should make an effort to see it. He had also experienced “bullying” during his high school years. I believe that Jackie should make a similar decision and stopped trying to be a “pop” singer. She has a magnificent voice and would not be suited for music which focused on rhythm and heavy instrumentation. She may or may not have the talent to write “original” music. I have listened to “Haunting” several times and it seemed artificially structured to include some higher range notes but it didn’t seem to fit. The link referenced is a teaser for the showing of this interview was placed in May, 2015. www.axs.tv/originals/the-big-interview-with-josh-groban-premieres-tuesday-may-5th/

I have listened to The Haunting several times. I don't like it. I am looking forward to her Pop EP with real trepidation. If the other songs she has written are at the same level as The Haunting it will be a real disappointment to me.
I was spoiled early on by Jackie's brilliant classical voice. Her pop voice just doesn't do it for me.

"...I really think somehow the message has to get to the Evancho Team that they need to ramp things up while they still have the opportunity...."
Yes that's been a dream of all her fans who care about her career. But it's plain to me, and probably many other fans, that that dream is not shared by her team, and possibly Jackie herself. And until she or her father or her manager explain the overarching concept of Team Evancho, none of us will know why things are as they are at this point in time.
There are those artists whose careers have come to a screeching halt, then later revived, but that's the hard way to do it. I hope Jackie does not put herself and her fans through that kind of agony...

Rick, Prepared to be disappointed. This style really jumps out at me, and I think this style matches the lyric content very well. I find The Haunting very similar to the sound of "The Tea Party" (Canadian Band, not the political Party) Some people just really like this style, some don't, that doesn't make it "Bad", its just a style you don't like. Lyrically and musically it is a very well put together song. If this style doesn't appeal to you then my guess is you will be disappointed. Go watch some "The Tea Party" songs on youtube, I'm sure you won't like them. The DF wall of sound that you like is very expensive to produce, there would be very little cut left in for Jackie, if she were were to pursue a career of DWM style albums. Like you, I'm also not a big fan of the Humberto sound. But I am a fan of WOTW, ATS and S&S production, more so than the DWM production. The odds are stacked against Jackie, and anyone else, breaking into pop. If she doesn't go big, it's not because you were right, its because the odds are stacked against her. Much of pop success is about the audience being ready for the artist. If she stuck with DWM productions she would also dwindle into obscurity because she is not longer 10 years old on the back of a talent show success. The most important thing in Jackie's life at the moment is her social life, not this album. She has run two social lives, one where she fits in and the other were she doesn't. School is over now, and it must be a great relief to be able to concentrate on her new life, she is now the master of her daily schedule and can fit her life around positive adults. For Jackie to succeed she needs to be better that DWM, and that means treading her own path, creating relationships with people in the industry that are meaningful, developing marketing and negotiation skills, and being relevant to the audience when they are ready. I'm along for the ride because I hope she eclipses her past success not emulates it, even if it takes her somewhere musically I don't like. She deserves it because she has talent and is polite. I hope she can make a real mark in the music industry and reinstall some credibility.
