I mentioned some while ago that Jackie should come to Australia. Christmas is in Summer and many places have 'Carols by Candlelight', celebrated outdoors. Sydney's version attracts 80,000. A great opportunity to introduce her to the public as the show is broadcast nationally and internationally throughout the region. Jackie would also be given coverage on the broadcasting networks Morning shows etc. Throw in a concert in Sydney and/or Melbourne, plus New Zealand and even Honolulu on the way home and you've got a great mini tour.
Maybe next year! (he thinks wishfully)

Hi, yes, I totally agree. There appears to be something holding things back, I finding it puzzling. Why would she, being such an outstanding talent, limit her exposure?? Beats the heck out of me. For some time now her overseas fans have been crying out for her to make an appearance. If she's not careful she will start loosing her fans. Her talent is recognized internationally as we know, especially in view of her appearance with some really outstanding celebrity singers,Andre Bocelli etc. What better way to promote yourself but they haven't capitalized on it. Why? I wouldn't want to see her just fade into obscurity which is what will happen if something doesn't happen in the not to distant future. Is she struggling with some personal internal family problems at the moment? Who knows. It's very frustrating for those of us who have followed her career from day one to see her not making the best of her talents. By the time she gets to 18 on current trends she will be just another great wasted talent I feel. Surely she has enough clout to push her current management for more exposure, I can't believe she would want to slow down, I don't buy that. I really think somehow the message has to get to the Evancho Team that they need to ramp things up while they still have the opportunity. Sorry folks but I feel very strongly about Jackie and her incredible talent and I just hate to see it wasting away. Hopefully more positive news in the future. Amigo. I see it completely different. We have to accept, that Jackie and/or her parents decided, after she exploded on Americas Got Talent, to be a part time entertainer and not a full time entertainer. She still goes to school and she has more interests then just pushing her singing career. She often said in interviews, that she want to study and go to college. She never said, she only want to go into show buisness. I think, we as fans, have to respect this. Even if she would decide to stop singing (what I don't hope). And we always have to consider that she is just 16 years old. Remember, what Jackie experienced in her live in the last six years. Nearly nobbody of us can imagine what it means to give more then 100 solo concerts, to perform in three PBS specials (I bet, nobody will ever have three specials in the age between 11 and 14 years), go into studio to record four or five LP's, travelling around the world, met people who are alltime showbiz greats and perform with them and - last but not least - go to school. And all this happens between the age of 10 and 16. I guess, most of us would have a break down or got grazy. We don't know Jackie personally. But it seemed and I'm sure, that she has a strong will and a strong personallity and she will decide, what is the best for her. And that is, what counts. And nothing else. Excuse me, if my comment is not perfect in English. I'm not a native. You are spot on! I have been saying this for years, but I guess a lot of her fans think otherwise. I believe everything surrounding her lackadaisical attitude toward her career, the appearance of mismanagement, the, what appears to be, intentionally refusing to educate her voice and body (breathing, volume, etc.), to improve her instrument, is directly related to a decision Jackie made at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami in January of 2014. On this date, David Adams of Reuters was invited to interview Jackie and Lisa and report an announcement that Jackie had pertaining to her career. www.yahoo.com/tv/child-singing-star-jackie-evancho-balances-school-career-000657816--sector.htmlThe Evancho's basically reported that Jackie was not going to be a full time entertainer, but rather decided that singing, mixed with schooling, was her preference going forward. And, if you analyze her career the past few years, everything that we as fans have argued over and over(declining sales, lack of promotion, lack of interest in advancing her career, apparent mismanagement. etc.), is further evidence not of a dwindling career, but of the decision made in January of 2014.

The market decides for entertainers, not the other way around. If you lose the interest of those who would pay to hear you, you have no career... part time or otherwise.
Like I said, if Jackie is content with her declining fan base, concert draw and music sales, I'm happy for her. I just hope if she ever decides she wants more, that there will be an audience waiting.
From the article linked to above:
Lisa said: "... It's more like wanting her to stand on her own ability and keep the career going in that direction. And, it looks as if it is..." (emphasis mine)
Jackie said: "Singing is my main goal..."

From reviews of her recent concerts (three back to back in October), it appears that the attendance was a little over 300 in venues that seat 1000 and 3500 (seating for two of the three). Is this kind of sales sustainable? I don't see how you could break even. I was really bothered by the weak turnout at Merrilville. Jackie had to look out at all of those empty seats. There was no marquee with Jackie's name on it at Merrilville. The theater is out of the way and hard to get to. You have to actually drive through the hotel parking lot to get to it. There were people still buying tickets at the ticket window half an hour before the show started. The problem isn't the karaoke aspect of the concert. Jackie and Peter put on an outstanding show. I think the lack of turnout is lack of local promotion. If people don't know Jackie is there they won't come.

In my opinion you are totally correct in your assumption that the big problem of lack of attendance is lack of promotion. That may explain why she has a better turnout in CA. Most of the theaters here send out flyers and emails to previous attendees to let them know who is going to be performing there in the upcoming season.

Even a radio podcast "phoner" interview or two might help. Jefan's suggestions about FaceBook could help even more. Definitely there should be more promo.

As an avid fan of Jackie I am in complete awe of this phenomenal young lady. The grace, poise and persona that we have witnessed over the last eight years, (half of Jackie’s life) is not only exceptional, but amazing considering what she has accomplished. The topic is where should Jackie’s career be now? (Which IMHO is really not a question any of us could answer) We are lucky to be witness to the growth of a Superstar. My opinions are formed from the You Tube videos of Jackie starting when she was eight, before AGT and the multitude of interviews that have been recorded and put on line for all to see. In her own words, she is not an opera singer. She wants to be herself and not a clone of other artists. (And I think there is a niche she will fill in her career.) She admits to being sassy and bossy. Her videos released in the last year shows many facets of her voice and acting. Her foray into Pop is a welcome change and could and should be a permanent part of her repertoire. I’m sure some fans do not agree, but I thinks she owns any music she sings. Her own personal touch put on covers of other artists are better than the original. Look at the accomplishments she has accomplished in the last eight years… Prelude to a Dream O Holy Night Dream With Me Songs of the Silver Screen Heavenly Christmas Awakening All of The Stars Safe and Sound Writing’s on the Wall Coming Home Pt. 2 Apocalypse Jackie has shared with many memorable videos that have been in addition to the albums that we all have. ‘Go Time’ was just a tease of the depth of her many genres that she possesses and we are privy to the fun side of her personality. Starting with AOTS which caused an uproar which is really not any of our business, but does show a very strong-willed young lady who has no fear of damaging her career for supporting her family. I respect that! Many of the events on her Bucket List have already been taken care of…Duets with Sarah Brightman, Sumi Jo, Andrea Bocelli, Peter Hollens, Katherine Jenkins, The Tenors Barbra Streisand. And she is there note for note. At twelve years old she carried the whole show at the Orpheum Theater (Songs of the Silver Screen) and was a glimpse of the adult in Jackie. Jackie’s career is just about where it should be with the responsibility she has assumed. A 16 year old girl who goes to school, travels the world, supports a family of six and still makes time for a personal life. The videos starting with Go Time, Rains of Castamere, Think of Me, All of the Stars, Blank Space, Safe and Sound, Coming Home Pt. 2, Writing’s on the Wall and Apocalypse are just bonuses for us. I say she is doing fine without the Monday Morning Quarterbacks saying she SHOULD do this or that. For me, I’m along for the ride wherever it takes her. GO JACKIE---BE YOU!!! Jackie through the years At 8 years old she was adorable At 9 years old she was cute At 10 years old she was charming At 11 years old she was attractive At 12 years old she was delightful At 13 years old she was pretty At 14 years old she was lovely At 15 years old she was beautiful And now she is 16 and Drop Dead Gorgeous

(NOTE: This was also posted in thread "Concert Attendance")
Reality seems to have come to roost.
There are tons of options available for people to spend their entertainment dollar.
And Jackie's shows are not reaching the masses and fewer and fewer people are willing to spend their money to see her. That is obvious.
She has a core fan base that has shrunk over time.
And presently little effective self-promotion is being done.
I was told Team Evancho would work with someone who they thought recognized that Jackie was at the beginning of a great career and was not thought of as trying to use Jackie's fame for their own benefit.
Of course, when Jackie works with a famous entertainer, she essentially is doing what Team Evancho claims they do not want to happen to them. That famous entertainer probably likes Jackie and appreciates her talent and thus is willing to help her. That famous entertainer has no true "need" to work with Jackie. But is willing to do so to give her some broader exposure.
However, Team Evancho can arguably be said to have done a terrible job of effectively building upon the opportunities that had been presented.
I agree that Team Evancho use of social media has been worse than abysmal. They wanted to present a certain type of image for Jackie and what they have done has failed miserably.
Here are Jackie's social media numbers:
- YouTube has 54.6K subscribers after over 6 years - Twitter has 65K followers - Instagram has 34.4K followers - Facebook has 352.4K likes
On the surface these seem OK, but weak.
Let us look at some of the success stories of social media in the entertainment world. In all cases these people have worked their tail off both perfecting their art and self-promoting on the Internet. And these are only a small sample of dozens upon dozens of others who worked the Internet to self-promote and gain a big fan base.
(1) Peter Hollens He is 34. Peter is a singer/songwriter, producer and entrepreneur. He has been involved with a cappella music since 1999 when he and Leo da Silva founded the University of Oregon's a cappella group, On The Rocks, known as the first official collegiate a cappella group in Oregon. He regularly releases new music videos to his YouTube channel. Peter records and produces from his home studio in Eugene, Oregon, and also has recorded for Sony and Epic Records. He recorded "Hallelujah" with Jackie which when first released became a worldwide trending YouTube video. - YouTube has 1.47 million subscribers - Twitter has 119K followers - Instagram has 87.3K followers - Facebook has 471.1K likes
(2) The Piano Guys They are an American musical group consisting of Jon Schmidt, Steven Sharp Nelson, Paul Anderson, and Al van der Beek. They gained popularity through YouTube, where they posted piano and cello renditions of popular songs and classical music. Schmidt and Nelson's music is accompanied by professional-quality videos shot and edited by Anderson and formerly by Tel Stewart. Their first four major-label albums The Piano Guys, The Piano Guys 2, A Family Christmas, and Wonders each reached number one on the Billboard New Age Albums and Classical Albums charts. Their YouTube videos have over 1 billion views on their own channel alone. They posted their first YouTube in 2010, the same year Jackie was on AGT. - YouTube has 5.11 million subscribers - Twitter has 124K followers - Instagram has 139K followers - Facebook has 1.56 million likes
(3) Sungha Jung He is a 20 year-old South Korean musician who specializes in acoustic fingerstyle guitar. Sungha creates acoustic covers and arrangements, typically by ear and/or by watching videos, and has original music, which he plays and uploads online. He was nicknamed the "Guitar Prodigy" and the "August Rush" in Korea, though he prefers to be known as a 'guitarist' rather than a 'guitar prodigy'. He practices daily for 1 to 2 hours when there is school and up to 3 hours daily when school is out. - YouTube has 4.14 million subscribers - Twitter has 271K followers - Instagram has 210K followers - Facebook has 1.33 million likes
(4) Lindsey Stirling She is now 30. Was on same AGT 2010 show as Jackie losing out in the quarter finals. Piers Morgan said "You're not untalented, but you're not good enough, I don't think, to get away with flying through the air and trying to play the violin at the same time." Sharon Osbourne said "You need to be in a group. ... What you're doing is not enough to fill a theater in Vegas." She was devastated but subbornly continued using YouTube and the Internet to promote herself. - YouTube has 8.56 million subscribers - Twitter has 511K followers - Instagram has 1 million followers - Facebook has 3.69 million likes
(5) Pentatonix They are an American a cappella group from Arlington, Texas consisting of five vocalists: Avi Kaplan, Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Mitch Grassi. Their work, which is mostly in the pop style, consists of covers of existing songs, sometimes in the form of medleys, along with their original material. Their music is defined by their own arrangement style, tight vocal harmonies, extensive vocal riffing, deep and steady vocal basslines, and a diverse range of vocal percussion and beatboxing. They were formed in 2011, a year after Jackie appeared on AGT. Pentatonix's official YouTube channel is currently the 13th most subscribed music video channel and the 44th most subscribed channel overall. - YouTube has 11.17 million subscribers - Twitter has 758K followers - Instagram has 1.2 million followers - Facebook has 3.01 million likes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
And the argument that these are older performers kinda gets blown out of the water by Sungha Jung who was a child when he began, and is only 4 years older than Jackie. Like Jackie, he was going to school. Yet look at his success, without the kind of support Jackie had available to her. He literally did it by pure hard work and just posting simple videos of himself sitting on a couch playing covers with his own arrangements. Admittedly fantastic virtuoso covers, but still simple videos from a self-taught instrumentalist located in South Korea.
Now, it is quite possible that Jackie was hog-tied by her Sony contract. She also got boxed-in as an "opera singer" when she was not.
However, being with Sony appears to not be true now.
Doing the "fancy" YouTube videos just are not working.
She does "Apocalypse" and has 830K views since 4/19. A pretty terrible result.
She got 879K views for "Writing's on the Wall" with a fairly sophisticated video. Again a pretty bad result. What have others done? Try 5.5 million for Sofia Karlberg just singing into an old style microphone. How about 1.2 million for Taps Mugadza also just singing into an old style microphone. And Connie Talbot sings into an old style microphone in her house and gets 1.2 million views (SIDE NOTE: Connie has 1.1 million subscribers!).
Jackie has 1.1 million views for "Safe & Sound" which seems not too bad. Again a decent video. But others with not anywhere near the video get 8.9 million views (Megan Nicole), 7.9 million views (Christina Grimmie), 13 million views (Jayesslee who have 2.1 million subscribers with truly bad voices), 6.9 million views (Madilyn Bailey who has 2.99 million subscribers and a Peter Hollens supporter), and on and on.
And the story is the same for Jackie's other covers. She puts together decent video covers and gets blown out of the water by the likes of Jayesslee (you must go to their Youtube channel and be shocked at how bad their vocals are and yet have millions of followers).
Team Evancho has seriously dropped the ball handed to them, multiple times. Hopefully the bleeding can be stopped and Jackie can build back a truly decent fan base before she ends up playing the 500 and smaller venues because no one will book her for the bigger venues.

(he thinks wishfully) I would like to second everything Mr. fatwombat says here. He is spot on. Australia has been ready for Jackie since her AGT triumphs. She could build a big following here. I know she can't be everywhere, especially since she's still at school, but it's just sitting here waiting for her, untapped. When Australians take a liking to an artist they are very loyal. I am all for everything she has done, but I'm quite puzzled as to why she has not followed up with any acting since "The Company You Keep". That was four years ago. Have there been no offers or opportunities? Maybe she's not in a hurry, but even a small roll or two like she played would do a lot for her profile.

Flew on Quantas to Melbourne, rented a car and drove to the World Expo 88 in Brisbane. Driving on the wrong side of the road did not pose a problem for me, but the round-a-bouts did! Attended a few concerts in Canberra and was blown away by the way Aussie fans treat their celebrities. All the way up the coast to Brisbane, it was like driving in the U.S. Especially driving thru Miami, Australia. Even though the flight to and from is a tad long, I firmly believe the effort would be greatly rewarded.

Things I don't know (about Jackie's career).
What does Jackie want? (not what she said as a child)
Who is making decisions? ( Jackie,family,professional management,David Foster,unknown benefactor)
Is there a long term strategy in play? (and what could it be?)
How does Jackie feel looking out at smaller audiences? (is this an accepted part of the aforementioned strategy?)
One thing that mystifies me is the whole concert promotion thing. Jackie is,when it comes down to it, a product that needs to be sold to the general public. With comparatively low numbers of followers on Facebook,Twitter etc.a "Hey, come to my concert at ......" can't be putting many butts on seats.
If you or I want to sell our house, just telling our friends is highly unlikely to bring about a result. At the very minimum you stick a For Sale sign out front. Better to advertise locally (Newspapers),Regionally and nationally (internet) to make people aware of the product you are selling. Surely the promotion of a concert must follow the same basic rules!
If anyone has any opinions on these issues,I,for one would be interested in hearing them.
PS. Tasmanian Devils, Numbats, Quolls, and of course the mighty Wombat need to be saved as well.

(1) Peter Hollens (2) The Piano Guys (3) Sungha Jung (4) Lindsey Stirling (5) Pentatonix As I know, all the artists you mentioned in your comment are full time entertainer and this buisness is their profession and nothing else. Jackie is a part time entertainer and singing is not her profession. On first hand, she is a highschool student and her hobby is, to give somtimes a concert on the weekend.

I agree that Jackie is not yet a full time professional. Nothing wrong with that. Her education should be a priority. Her career, however, should not be characterized as simply a hobby.
Jackie and her team are asking people to pay to watch a performer put on a professional show (which I understand she does)-not a teenage girl indulging in her hobby.
