WOW! I am pleasantly surprised by that. Caruso is such a beautiful song. This reinforces what Jackie always says, that while she may be dabbling in pop, she is certainly not abandoning CC.
Yesss! I love that song. Another one that Lara Fabian has done, Italian this time. I hope she sings that in California next month. Jonathan and Charlotte also sang it. It's a classical crossover standard. If this is on the new album, it shows that Jackie is staying with CC, just as she's been saying all along. The new album should be eclectic, as was Awakening. Have no fear.
I am exhausted, and it's so worth it! Just finished a marathon session of fan gathering, Jackie concert and after concert gathering. Expect a group photo of the initial gathering on other fans social media in the next day or two.
Now, the concert: 1st dress was the beige and black number, 2nd was the sequenced white one. Jackie was back in top form, and then some! I don't take notes during the performance, so here is just what leapt out to me. Opening was 'Pure Imagination', magical as ever. Jackie accidently reversed the order of the intro for her Mom's and Dad's song dedication, which Jackie admitted to on the spot, with a giggle, and Peter playfully chided her for.
The medley in the 2nd half was magical. All the favorites from past albums, sung almost a Capella, with only piano. As reported, Caruso was a wonderful surprise. Jackie nailed the new song. She closed out with rousing renditions of 'Lovers' and 'The Lords Prayer'.
If the multiple standing ovations are any indication, Tyler adored Jackie.
More as my rusty memory allows.

Edit: I misremembered 'Music of the Night', it was somewhere in the middle of the concert, not at the end.

Concert intro: Executive director of the Cowan Center mentions that Donald Trump contacted her way back in spring, saying that he would like Jackie to sing the national anthem at his inauguration and was hoping that she would be okay with Jackie then having to rush to Tyler. Jackie might or might not have known that he had her picked way in advance, but it sure looks like Jackie was Trump's first (and not last) choice. Trump might have heard of this concert when it was announced and worried it might conflict.
1. Pure Imagination 2. Made to Dream 3. Memories 4. Music of the Night Marriage of Figaro (instrumental) 5. Fix You 6. The Impossible Dream (D'Oh moment, wrong introduction) 7. Wonderful World 8. Nessun Dorma
9. Caruso (amazing! and thanks to those here for the correct spelling) 10. Over the Rainbow Carmen (instrumental) 11. Medley: OMBC, Con Te Partiro, Think of Me, Somewhere, When you wish upon a star, The Prayer 12. Writings on the Wall 13. Safe & Sound 14. Lovers 15. The Lords Prayer (encore)
The bottom level looked totally full to me. I couldn't see the upper decks though...
I could not believe my ears when I heard the opening chords of Caruso. I have long wanted Jackie to sing it and she did a very credible job of it. Lara Fabian still owns that song though but I'm sure Jackie will get better and better with it as she sings it more and more.
Jackie was very beautiful and powerful on the stage tonight. Unfortunately the sound engineer tried to make PK drown her out(which he could not do lol). But somebody needs to tell the soundman it's Jackie's concert not the piano man's.
I agree with catmando that Jackie will get better with this song. After Jackie, Lara Fabian is my favorite singer. When I first heard Jackie's version of Je T'aime, I thought it didn't distinguish itself much from Lara Fabian's. Eventually, Jackie personalized it a bit.

rickolsen: If my comments were disparaging I apologize. To me her classical crossover voice was much better than her pop voice and so were the songs. Beginning with her album The Debut when she switched to pop I haven't purchased anything she's put out.

lawrence: A disparaging comment by rickallanolsen on Jackie's recent upload of her China performance of Set Me Free, "Jackie's music went to hell when she stopped singing Classical Crossover. That's just a fact." Hope you will cease this kind of commentary on YT.
