Only my opinion and likely not a popular or welcome one here; but I would not nor will I pay one dime either to buy Jackie's latest album or see her in concert at this point in her career. What I'm seeing and hearing is not the Jackie that inspired me to become her fan for the past 8 years. Her covers of Joni Mitchell songs are forgettable and just some among 1500 others that have been performed and recorded since 1969. Of the 140 or so songs Jackie has sung in concert and recorded since the beginning of her career, there are barely a handful I don't like and don't care to listen to. Otherwise I am in awe every time I hear her singing Nella Fantasia or even It's A Wonderful World. Her renditions of Mitchell's songs are unfortunately those I'll add to my "handful" of those I just won't bother to listen to. Jackie I'm hoping will transition to the kind of timeless music that got her this far in the first place and apply her gift to and regal us with songs like this.

Bye! ____________________________________ Why Joni Mitchell. A kindred spirit?.....candid, humble, independent, unpretentious, "not comfortable with being 'pedestaled", experimental, adventurous, passionate and determined, "doesn't look back".... Jackie is very perceptive, sensitive and seems to feel deeply and take things personally, as does Joni, apparently. Jackie has said much about why she was inspired by Joni's music, but maybe in her research she discovered a more intimate and ineffable connection with Joni beyond the music. Perhaps not, but the similarities are quite evident to me in this interview, particularly INTEGRITY.

"Why Joni Mitchell?". Listening to Joni for the first time, this man tells us why, much in the way Jackie told us.....
"I love how the song is something we can all relate to in our own unique way," Evancho tells PEOPLE. "We listen to the words and each of us has a moment in time we go back to. And it's all individual to the person listening. It's a message for millions but directed towards one. I find that so beautiful."
