With her Awakening image on the intro page, this does not seem to be a Debut concert.
The venue has 1847 seats.

I would much rather attend another Awakening concert than a Debut concert. I wonder if the Awakening photo is just another team Evancho "can't be bothered keeping up" incident or maybe they've gotten some feedback and heeded it. I wouldn't introduce Jackie to a guest at a Debut concert. I feel sure they would wonder what it was I saw in the girl these past eight years.

Jackie is having the Picasso affect on some fans. And what do I mean by the Picasso effect? Well, most people that hear the name Picasso think of his cubism art. However, Picasso was a classically trained artist and his early works reflect that fact. www.dailyartmagazine.com/10-early-picasso-works-know/"Man in a Beret" was painted as a 14-year old. Then we have "Science and Charity" painted when 15 years old. A beautiful classic style for someone so young and learning his craft. The "Portrait of the Artist's Mother" is a wonderful example of a classical style of portrait painting done in similar time frames as the prior noted paintings. As can be seen, when Picasso grew older and started to visit other areas, his artwork started to change. He was influenced by the works of Steinlen and Toulouse-Lautrec when he visited Paris in 1900 when he was 18 during the summer and turning 19 on October 25th. This can plainly be seen in his painting "Fairground Stall". Then we also have "The Wait (Margot)" which shows the influence of Vincent van Gogh and the French Les Nabis artistic movement. A hint of use of cubes is throughout this painting. As Picasso matured so did his art as he became a prime driving force in cubism which is an early 20th-century avant-garde art movement that many consider the most influential of the 20th century. It began in Paris when Picasso was in his mid to late twenties. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CubismHere are many examples of Picasso cubism paintings throughout his career. www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&q=cubism+pablo+picasso+paintings&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwipl6PM_YPjAhUXac0KHX27D9UQrNwCCGYoAA&biw=1536&bih=722&dpr=1.25So we have Jackie in her early artistic music life. Definitely classical in style. Now, she is experimenting. Trying to find that special something that further sets her apart. She may never find it. She may find it a year from now or ten years from now. Only time will tell. And why not just try to enjoy the ride?

Absolutely. Artists explore. A friend of mine likes Neil Diamond (as I do), but didn't care for his cover album "Up on the Roof: Songs from the Brill Building". But it did ok; not one of his best, but decent. It was a detour, not a permanent change. Those are good, even if one doesn't care much for specific material. New ideas and techniques, these and more contribute to making future selection or composition richer.

I got an email from songkick.com about this concert. Apparently you tell them what you like, and they tell you when that's nearby. I don't remember using them, but from old emails, it looks like I signed up with them in December, 2017.
Interesting that I haven't gotten emails about Jackie's concerts from them before (although I got a few about Josh Groban concerts, possibly because of similar genre). I wonder if one of the new folks pointed out that making sure that certain sites are aware of upcoming events is like free publicity. :-)
I also wonder whether Marc J. works mostly off of DF's Rolodex and other direct contacts, and is maybe not so connected with the online world. Nothing wrong with the former, but these days, the latter helps too.
Anyway, if there are more ways the word is getting out now, that's good, if perhaps a bit belated.

The good seats are going FAST on presale (only available if you're signed up and use the access code). And they're _expensive_; the best (front row center, couldn't get it ) over $400, and even a couple rows back over $300. I don't know if it's the venue, or what; but the economics seem rather different for this show. Or maybe this is just set up by the ticket vendor to squeeze the most out of the people who want the best seats, I don't know. The test will be how it does a reasonable amount of time after full public sale, and again a reasonable amount of time before the event. At any rate, I hope it's one of those things where if sales exceed some level, the performer gets an additional cut above their fixed fee. I don't mind the artist getting more, compared to the ticket folks (slow site to access, but very fast to post the credit card charge!) profiting massively.

$400/ticket? LoL...that's insane. Only an idiot would pay that much when most front row seat for a typical Jackie concert are around $100/ticket. What is going on with that? And, it's showing a lot of seat sold already...that many seats are never sold this early for a Jackie concert. Shady stuff going on with this venue.

It does seem odd by recent standards (although some years back, the $200 vicinity for best seats was not unusual). Last concert in DC area that I'm aware of was in October, 2015, so it's been awhile. Other factors? Who knows. I wonder if the inauguration made her better known in the DC area than most places (for better or worse, given the polarization of politics - I hope there's good security at the venue!!!). edit: a little googling suggests that Ticketmaster Platinum (which is pretty much what a pre-sale with a Ticketmaster affiliate like LiveNation seems to force you to) is basically a 4 - 10x markup on pre-sale tickets. Problem is, there are just enough fans willing to pay those prices. Seems to me that Ticketmaster is not an asset to the mutual satisfaction of artist and customer.

I think all those seats really arent sold, OR, they are, and like you said politicians and other more prominent people who live there bought those tickets and know of her due to the inauguration. I thought about getting tickets to the front row early on for this show, but $400 is absurd and frankly bizarre. I surprisingly almost find it offensive.

Hmm, if they're not faking, it's almost 1/3 sold already, and not quite 20 minutes into general public sale. Not bad, although clearly it's being done in a manner that maximizes profit; which again, I hope provides some advantage to artist and their support, as well as to venue and all the middlemen.

I doubt that Jackie's short and, unfortunately not her best performance at the Inauguration, was so memorable as to cause an upsurge in ticket sales at these prices. And no, I think her fee is her fee, no b.o. cut. So agree, some kind of manipulation seems to be going on but don't know enough about the business to understand what it is.
