CL, Jackie does not and has never claimed to arrange her own music. When she does a medley, as this is, and which I believe she's sung in concert before, it would have been arranged by her long time music director, Peter K. Jackie is a singer. She has never seriously studied music. She plays a little piano and may have picked up a violin in elementary school music class. But Jackie IS a very good singer. So far, she has shown little evidence of any other talents or even intellectual interests. Don't over egg the pudding as the Brits say. Why not wait and see if she really develops in other ways. You absolutely refuse to credit Jackie with anything. Dang, what is your problem, Julia? This is not a medley, or a performance she has done before, making a transition from OMBC to ND. Her actual medleys are separated by dialogue to introduce each segment, and ND has been her standard encore. Jackie is a CREATIVE singer with ideas of her own. Have you been paying attention to what she has been saying, what she's been doing? You don't know that she didn't create the idea, as David said, "I love the way you put two great songs together" (paraphrased). I presume peter or some musician spliced the sound tracks and whatever else was necessary to provide a smooth movement from one song to the other. She doesn't have to be a student of music to have innovative ideas and the skills to execute them. Other talents? Have you seen her artwork? Do you know she is an amateur equestrian (I'm a professional horseman and could see she's been taught to ride English)? She also writes poetry and lyrics. It's apparent you know less about Jackie than you think you do, but have a lot to say in an attempt to diminish her. Cl, Jackie got on a horse for a publicity shot for that Chinese horse show she sang the theme for. What other evidence have you seen of her riding. Even around Pittsburgh.

Jackie is more than a good singer. SHE may never have claimed to arrange her own music BUT David Foster has stated as much and claims she has a musicality way beyond her years and perhaps only once or twice has he ever worked with someone with such depth. I suggest you listen to the entire following clip a couple of times and understand that David appreciates and is amazed at her creativity to give him beyond what he seeks from her. Like CL, I too do not understand why you belittle Jackie from time to time. It almost seems that your dislike for Mike extends to Jackie at times.
It's not Jackie (at least I hope it's not) its some who keep trying to load her with virtues she has not yet exhibited. Just take grown up Jackie for what she is, a talented singer who has a chance for stardom if she finds the right manager to show her the way.

Julia, last summer Jackie and her family went on vacation in North Carolina after Dewey Beach, remember. They rode horses on a path in the woods. There was a video, but I can't find it.

If anyone is having a problem downloading the videos, here they are on my Google Drive:
And, here is Jackie at 11 singing O Mio Babbino Caro on QVC-UK:
What the h e l l is wrong with you Willie, why do you feel the need to post a link to a 11 year old Jackie singing OMBC. Jackie (adult) knocked it out of the park in China, we don't need to be reminded how Jackie the kid sounded 7 years ago. Geez, let's focus on the present day performances instead of constantly reliving in the past. I agree 100%! Some people in here just can't turn the page that JE is no longer that little girl! JE was fantastic in China!

Hold on! I posted numerous comments about her experience on the China Trip (Troy) thread. Apparently you missed them, or weren't paying attention. She didn't just get on the horse for a publicity shot. There are several photos of her actually RIDING (not posed) a grey horse in full English tack. I imagine she may have asked if she would have an opportunity to ride or participate in some way, given her interest in horses, and that she said she has taken riding lessons (later in a Facebook announcement about her experience with TROY). She also participated in a training exercise (video) with a lady trainer and a black Friesian gelding walking on it's hind legs on command as one of the acts. Jackie was raising the training whip along side the trainer as he walked toward them both. jackieevanchofans.proboards.com/post/19512/thread Video: jackieevanchofans.proboards.com/post/16233/thread I recognize when someone has been taught to ride English, having been an instructor myself. Her posture was correct, her legs in the proper position, calves slightly behind vertical with heels down, holding the reins correctly, and other indications that would mean nothing to the average horseback rider. She appeared comfortable, confident and in command riding around the arena. My first reference to Jackie's having been taught to ride was an older posted photo of her mounted on a groomed horse, shaven with a winter cut and tacked properly with English saddle and bridle. Jackie was wearing appropriate clothing, including riding boots and helmet, sitting comfortably, again in correct position. It appeared she may have been on the grounds (probably in rural Gibsonia) where the horse was stabled and wanted a photo taken of her with the horse to show she actually rides, which was apparent to me. IIRC the caption was "How I enjoy the snow". Need I continue? jackieevanchofans.proboards.com/post/16207/threadYou see, Julia, you make statements based on nothing but assumptions as if they were facts to push your bias against Jackie, intended to make her appear to be nothing more than a "good singer", with no other interests, talents or abilities, when the truth is that Jackie has broad interests, many abilities, and is creative in several ways, all of which you prefer to ignore. There's a video that Lisa put up on her Facebook page where she took the whole family to a ranch where they all had their own horse where they spent the whole day riding the trails.

It is funny how Julia can change the topic when challenged with facts contained in videos. She may not be a professional or champion show rider or Olympic caliber jumper but she is still a multifaceted young lady. Just because she may not engage in her other activities, skills or talents as much in the past year or two is not valid reason to discount those abilities that she possesses. It is like calling her a chubby little rutabaga now because she no longer wears the dresses she wore on AGT or claiming Mike has little to no value in being a part of Jackie's adult career even though the evidence of Mike off stage in China was clearly appreciated by Jackie before and during her performance.
Occasionally we get to read some interesting things from Julia but of late they seem to lack credibility.

By hit and miss, looking for Jackie's performance on Chinese YouTube, I hit upon this trailer for the competition. There's a quick shot of Jackie at 1:21. David Foster makes some statements at different times. It is almost all in Chinese, but interesting.
Note: Coco Lee, the judge at the far left on the panel who conversed with Mike:
Coco Lee (Chinese: 李玟; pinyin: Lǐ Wén; born Ferren Lee, 17 January 1975, Hong Kong) is a Hong Kong-born American singer-songwriter, record producer, dancer, and actress. Lee's career began in Hong Kong and then expanded to Taiwan. Her single, "Do You Want My Love" also entered the US music charts. Her first full-length English language album was Just No Other Way. As a Chinese American, Lee is the first and only person of Chinese ethnicity to perform at the Oscars; she performed the Best Original Song nominated, "A Love Before Time" from the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. -Wikipedia

So, the 64 dollar question is what will Jackie sing in the second performance?
Will she sing something like "Caruso" or "Music of the Night" or will she move into her new songs such as "Burn" or "She Used To Be Mine"?
Interesting to see what the choice will be.
