CL, let's not use David Foster's comments on a performer and an album he was being paid big bucks by Columbia to produce, plus a royalty on every sale, as though they were those of a disinterested observer. It's not necessary. Jackie's voice remains lovely and her presentation is improving. She will have a career of some kind. How big depends on her. Nobody in the business cares at all what Foster said when she was 10 and he was being paid to work for her. Bingo! You're exactly right Julia, David Foster was getting paid big bucks and it was in his best interest to say those things. David is the King of showmanship and most of the banter on stage is his basic schtick material.Agreed, but I've never gotten the impression watching either their definitely Jackie-centric PBS Special or Foster's own Hitman Returns special in which she appeared or any of their other online clips that he was in any way insincere or patronizing but actually recognized her talent.

Some performers deliver a lovely performance, but leave me doubting their emotional connection with the song. I've never gotten that feeling from Jackie. Her performances are rarely perfect, but the imperfections make it better, more "Jackie". This performance, to me, is an unforgettable example of Jackie giving herself entirely to the song from internal emotion, bringing you into her experience. Who would have noticed that she confused one line of the lyrics with another, much less have cared? And, this was at age 14.

It's not a big deal at all.

Typical of you to make note of a negative, even though it's "not a big deal" (not worth mentioning). No response to the performance, of course. I think your "mental tape" is a continuous loop.

I think your overhyping what quite frankly was a rather reasonable comment on my part is interesting.... Nice to see you taking over where Rob left off.

Leonard is speaking for himself, though we agree. "continuous loop" and "relentless negativity" we are saying the same thing.

The only two folks that are going personal on others in here right now are you two.
