Hi folks. I am staggered that I can't find any official reason for the old forum to shut down. I would have thought some prior warning would have been appropriate considering the large number of members it had. Surely Lisa must have had an idea that this was going to happen and with the number of members who did a lot of support for Jackie one way or the other. At the end of the day fan sites are just that and performers need fans for support. I don't know what the membership number was but it must have been substantial. Very disappointing to say the least. Has anyone been in contact with the 'E-Team' for more information? I have always enjoyed reading the inputs and sometimes contributing. Like most members I like to keep in touch with Jackie's career and the forum is really the only way to get in depth knowledge of up and coming events. I am relocating to New Zealand for a while for business reasons so I will be closely monitoring progress with these issues. Look forward to enjoying all your posts again. I've always felt it's like belonging to a very large family and hope we can all get back together again. Warmest regards, Amigo In answer to your questions. There were approximately 1009 members when Lisa's forum went down. No one seems to have found a reason for it closing. There have been guesses of a flood of spammers or the forum was hacked. I find both of those ideas fairly far fetched as this site is supported by Proboards. They wouldn't be able to stay in business if something like that could cause the complete closing of a forum. My personal opinion is that Lisa got mad about something and pulled the plug.

I have to agree that spammers would have been dealt with by pro boards. As far as Lisa getting mad, mmmm, I would have thought she was more level-headed than to do that. She knew the size of the forum and the numbers of members and their incredible support. Based on that I would be surprised that she would initiate such a move. No, I think there is more to this than meets the eye. I'm sure pro boards would know who pulled the pin if they would be willing to reveal the source. Almost a good a mystery as JFK and 911.. lol.lol.

If she was responsible, we will probably never know.

The only way Lisa's forum could have been deleted is if she, the only admin, clicked Delete Forum. Why she did it, who knows.

The only way Lisa's forum could have been deleted is if she, the only admin, clicked Delete Forum. Why she did it, who knows. About a year ago Lisa ceased to be listed as an admin; she was listed as a member. At that time Nanna and AnaAusfeld were made admins. Some time later AnaAusfeld stopped being an admin. Wasn't Mike always an admin (though silent for years) He did come on once long ago, as an admin, to deplore adamant "defenders" of Jackie on YouTube, and ask members not to do that. He also wrote the rules.

Nanna and Ana were moderators not admins unless Lisa changed it at the very end. As such they could not ban people or delete the forum.

I don't remember seeing her post as anything other than Lisaevancho. Of course even if she wasn't an admin, she could say, "ban this person" and it would happen. Anyway, Mike may have been the one that pulled the plug.

We have a great opportunity here to make a great fan forum for the fans and for Jackie. Built by a fan and run by fans for the fans. We have a different philosophy here and it's working well.

I'm with you Rick, totally agree. This will be a great fan site, give it a few months once the word gets around and the membership will soar. At the end of the day it's all about Jackie and fan support. Amigo.

The goal here is indeed for fans to have a place where we can talk about Jackie, her music and her career, and to celebrate her successes. It's also fun to be able to hear about concerts -- especially if someone is unable to attend -- and to cheer Jackie on as she keeps moving forward with her career while also handling family life, being a part of her own community, and school. She's one busy girl!

Jackie sang with a performer by the name of James Bondy. Does anyone know anything about him and why was the significance on singing a duet with him?

Hi, A couple of people have questioned about backup by Proboards. Backup is very expensive, from both a hardware and capabilities perspective. As Proboards is free it probably doesn't backup the data as backup would cut heavily into the profit margins. They would use high availability servers with multi-site redundancy, because that protects their business from disaster. However if a site gets spammed, hacked or deleted it won't kill their business. Loosing one in 1000 forums is not a disaster, their income is advertising not subscription fees.
The majority of business I have worked for are totally incompetent when it comes to backup. I have worked for 3 $100B + multinationals and they are all useless at it. How do I know? I'm business facing IT, reporting to production not the IT department, managing Process Control systems. I often use IT to manage my non critical servers, every 3 months a request a test restore, they are unaware that I don't really need it, 9 out of 10 fail.
Every so often IT will try to take over my position so I deliver the results to the business and IT are told where to go. My best backup story is when I traced back a missing restore request and found when IT changed its service provider, every backup tape was lost, I use to do backup for IT so I know the media set did exist and was created, I had the logs and the media management schema so they eventually stopped deigning its existence. I suspect it fell out of the project scope and got left behind at the old vendor. We are talking 7 years of data for around $10B worth of assets. Any media left behind, tapes, discs or servers would have been long destroyed, that is best practice.

I read a comment that the site was flooded with spam just before the plug was pulled. I read that to. I doubt if that would be a problem here. Too many Chiefs here. Spammers here would have about as much chance as Custer did at The Little Bighorn. I agree , my bloodline goes back to the Bighorn and we took care of that trouble making white-skin red head , imo as I believe I was the top poster in number of both Official forms plus CC-UK , in all the forums there were just a small number that were really active , I believe Lisa got fed up with THINGS IN TOTAL on social media as Mike did years ago , I don't believe that Mike and Lisa really cared about the forums except the first few months of JEFC . Why I was banned from the 2nd forum is other story , I was told it was my ATTITUDE not rule breaking , perhaps a negative or hostile state of mind to a group of members , of course here I am a jolly nice mate
