cer, Not an accusation or name-calling here. Just an observation, although you may call it harassment if you like. I think you actually believe your own bullschitt. You know all about BS because you certainly step in it enough and dish out enough of it.... so please spare me the nonsense.

IMO, the problem is that there is a continuum of possible statements that one can make about Jackie or anyone else, from completely over the top to complete hate ("under the bottom" ). Where should the line be drawn? That is very hard to do.
I thought that there was nothing wrong about posting that one was concerned about Jackie drinking at the Sugar Factory, but I now think it matters exactly what one writes, and others have different opinions. I don't think that one can only state that Jackie is the greatest singer in the history of the galaxy.
There are continuums about mostly anything. Admin just stated that it is OK to talk about the Civil War and Vietnam. So, where is the line? Is talking about Trump's first year OK too? I think not, but ... If one can talk about the Vietnam war, can we discuss why a certain person did not serve there?
Most college age young men did not go to Viet Nam. And some who flunked out or graduated from college protection fled to Canada to avoid the draft. Many also got "medical" exemptions from the draft. Trump's were bone spurs. The college riots ended when Nixon ended the draft. No one wanted to go to Viet Nam who weren't professionals, so it ended up by being fought by the working class who did not have the college exemption option. I was in college when I enlisted. I had been wanting to go since I turned 18 but my parents had spent what was a good bit of money to us, for me to go to college, so I went. But within 2 months I knew I could not stay there, because the cowards there turned my stomach. Most openly admitted they were afraid to serve. And most who claimed to be against the war also laughed that they mde a show of that to fool the girls, so they could screw them. Any boy who claimed to be against the war, could get lots of air headed girls, and free pot. Those pukes made me sick, and it seems I was punching someone out nearly every day, so I left college and joined the Marines after my first semester.

Hopefully this will help to get this thread back on the proper track.
I attended Jackie’s concert in Costa Mesa on Saturday, December 15th and brought my brother so he could experience the wonder of Jackie Evancho for his first time. He had seen her sing a couple of songs on one of the David Foster PBS specials back in the early days but had never heard any of her albums. He wasn’t even aware that she had recorded any albums, WHAT A TRAVISTY! Traffic was quite bad driving to the venue, so it took us almost three hours. This was actually a good thing, since it gave me time to play the SFTSC, Awakening in their entirety, a few songs from DWM and most of the 2 Hearts albums for him. Once I started playing her music in the car, he was completely mesmerized, barley spoke a word and couldn’t believe what he was hearing. While in the car, he made several comments that I have heard before such as “I keep forgetting to breath”, “The orchestra could tune instruments to her”, “she has perfect pitch”, “this is unbelievable”, “the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard”. At the venue, when Jackie was singing MOTN, I looked at him and he looked dazed, his mouth was hanging open for the entire song and I don’t think he was breathing. At the end of the song when he snapped out of his trance, he told me he needed water because his mouth had dried out from gaping open. I wish could have taken a picture of him during the song because it was quite comical. He spent half of the drive home posting pictures of the evening and writing a Facebook post. Jackie now has another avid fan! He also said that the whenever Jackie is performing in the area, he and his wife would definitely attend with me. I put this posted in this thread because it is evidence, at least to me, that Jackie is not just another pretty voice. It’s not just her voice, but the whole Jackie experience when you see her sing live.
My brother and I are pushing 60 and have never been affected by any other entertainer the way that we have been by the Jackie experience.

It was bad when I lived there in the 1990's, and it must be even worse now! Glad you and your brother enjoyed Jackie's concert! By the way was it pretty much a packed house!?

The house was pretty well packed. I couldn't see all of the upper levels, but I was in the orchestra terrace level and I didn't see any empty seats. The lower orchestra section had a few empty seats but it looked pretty full. The Segerstrom concert hall is a very beautiful facility and a perfect venue for Jackie.

Hopefully this will help to get this thread back on the proper track. Your "Jackie tale" was perfect Curtis. Sounds like your brother got fully gobsmacked by the Jackie effect. And thanks for getting this thread back on track.

A 12 year old little girl is going to sing a duet on stage, accompanied by a full orchestra before a crowd of 100,000 and leaders from around the world at the Palace Square in St. Petersburg, Russia. It's the opening ceremony for the 2012 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum as part of "The Bouquet of Opera" Concert, featuring opera singers Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo of South Korea.
What would you imagine about her? That she's a cute little Russian kid with a "pretty" voice given a chance to sing along with a famous opera singer to amuse the crowd? Maybe so. Then you hear that she lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. You ask yourself, why would she be invited to journey all the way from Pittsburgh to St. Petersburg?
Then you see this, just a glimpse, and you understand. It's the voice, the personality, the mutual appreciation and respect. A little ambassador.
Continued.....

...To give more reason that this little girl from the U.S. was invited to perform, she offered this song, "Imaginer" (French lyrics) along with several solo performances for the occasion. She is the only artist to have recorded it for release. The lyrics were written specifically for her by Lara Fabian from an original composed and recorded by Lara entitled "Broken Vow". This was not something done by a world renown vocalist for a singer with just a pretty voice, but for a prodigious talent, Jackie Evancho, at age 10. The song was released on her "Dream With Me" album, June 3, 2011.
(There is some audio distortion and fade out)

Are the quotes in your last two posts somewhere in the comments section of the video or elsewhere? I could not find them.

Are the quotes in your last two posts somewhere in the comments section of the video or elsewhere? I could not find them. There are no quotes except "pretty" in the first, and "Imaginer", "Broken Vow" and "Dream With Me" in the second which are mine. Not sure what you mean Ursus. I wrote the story and provided all the information myself, nothing from comments.

I meant and Or is that what you wrote now? I wrote all of it. It's entirely original. There is nothing quoted from anywhere in either post.

She was good then, but she is truly great now. The age increase in her case definitely helps!
