I find, it doesn't look bad. This theater is selling out much better! :-)

www.facebook.com/groups/136196403169941/permalink/1988541004602129/Mike TigfanThe concert last night in Ft Myers was wonderful. No variation in the set list from previous shows. But who cares? They're great songs and at every show Jackie pushes the envelope on several of them to equal or surpass her previous performances. I've heard Lovers many times live and I think last night's was close to being perfect, from end to end. And that was her first song, as usual. Between song comments are a bit different. Before How Great Thou Art, Jackie mentioned, for the first time at a concert that I've attended, that it was cancer that took her great-grandmother for whom she sings the song. Jackie now relates this calmly without the noticeable lump in her throat as before. Speaking of relatives, I saw Jackie's grandfather there. Recognized him from the Trouper the Raccoon video where Jackie sings Come What May, and by his flamboyant moustache. I've always thought it cute when Jackie would thank "Will the Sound Guy". Last night she was formal and said "Will Reed (sp?), my sound engineer", after which Peter yelled outout. "Will!" It was a fun evening. The audience was very lively and Jackie and Peter seemed to feed off it a bit. The last three songs Jackie sang where Vincent, Music of the Night, then Nessun Dorma as the encore. These are three of my top five songs, along with Imaginer and the Vavilov Ave Maria, which she doesn't currently perform. It's like Jackie boxed a few rounds with me, then threw a combination at me and I was down for the count. Jackie introduced Vincent by saying she loves music from the 70s, and paid tribute to Don McLean. Then Peter began the intro and I teared up immediately. Who better than Jackie to sing that beautiful poetry. That song gets me every time. MOTN was literally spine-tingling. I actually felt some sort of physical resonance. I've thought recently that Jackie has been kind of smooth with the third "vincero" in Nessun Dorma. But last night she was back to ripping the sky open with it. The audience loudly gave it's approval then, which continued as Jackie finished the song and left. When Jackie exited and said thank you, I couldn't restrain myself. I shouted, "No...thank YOU".

I realize that this isn't Zara, and I have heard Trooper's backstory, but has anyone read anything about the pet policy in the building where Jackie lives in NYC? Is she able to have any of her menagerie with her? I would think that pet policy was a consideration when she picked her apartment, but I don't recall reading anything.

Not knowing the building (someone allegedly figured it out, but I'm not going to find and repost that!), I can't speak to the building's policies. But NYC as a whole has some pretty tough policies regarding pets - no ferrets, for example (Giuliani thought they were a higher rabies risk than cats and dogs, notwithstanding that there is rabies vaccination available for ferrets, so they're banned in NYC but not the rest of NY, although there have been some attempts to end the NYC ban). As I recall, Juliet has a ferret, so if she was visiting/doing some work in NYC, she couldn't bring it along. Raccoons are not legal pets in any of NY - they are in PA, with certain requirements. They aren't normally legal in FL either, but Trouper (correct spelling) is covered by special cases for injured animals in permanent rehab, and as an educational animal. One rumor was that Jackie is subletting someone else's lease - a good deal she or her team heard about for something in a suitable location. Making the best of an opportunity might leave one having to choose what one wanted more, a good deal or the most accommodating terms for things like pets. Anyway, Jackie is in NYC (when she is) to work; she puts in some long days sometimes and might not really be able to deal with pets there, aside from easy stuff (a single fish in a plain bowl, maybe). She still apparently goes home quite often - and probably would until all the siblings have moved out; so it's not like it's going to be many months, or even more than a few weeks probably, between times seeing her menagerie. Maggie (Pomeranian) was originally her "travel dog" - a good choice, small and well behaved. If a small dog were allowed in the apartment, then one already experienced with travel and lots of people would be the best choice, assuming Maggie wouldn't get stir crazy when left alone for most of a day with no other people or animals for company. edit: I got a laugh out of Mike's #raccoonwhisperer tag, esp. since he's not the most eager host for a menagerie, even if outvoted and tolerant enough of them; I gather he'd be happy with at most one or two dogs, and nothing that jumps on counters (as most cats would).
