So I just realized this is Ocean City, NJ, not Maryland. I'm seriously considering this concert but its just 2 weeks after a big vacation. Having checked quite some time back, I'd say that at that time of year, prices for decent hotels near the venue are insane. It appears that parking near the venue may not be too bad, in which case a hotel room some miles away may be much more reasonable.

Ocean city Music Pier where Jackie will be performing.
The stage and auditorium area (two sections)
This would seem to be the solarium (a room with extensive areas of glass to admit sunlight) at the rear behind the soffit.

That would explain why the solarium tickets are a harder sell and why it is called a solarium. It probably gets quite hot in midsummer.

That would explain why the solarium tickets are a harder sell and why it is called a solarium. It probably gets quite hot in midsummer. The Gazette of Ocean CityExcerpt from article: "Music Pier Improvements Continue, Dec. 29, 2010 "According to Wismer’s Music Pier Sketchbook, the Music Pier had a solarium from 1929 until the early 1990s. The solarium contained “a reading and writing room much like those on ocean liners of the time,” wrote Wismer. “Winter and summer, people would spend many happy and restorative hours writing letters and postcards or reading while listening to the sea.” The pier underwent a series of renovations “spanning a five- to six-year period, from the late 1980s to the early 1990s,” said Dattilo. “The $2.5 million renovation took place in phases. During this time, the stage was enlarged, new technical sound and lighting systems were installed, heating units were installed for the first time in the 1980s, air conditioning was introduced in the early 1990s, the dressing rooms were completely redone, and the restrooms and outside façade as well were redone.” Much of the funding for these previous renovations came from a grant from the New Jersey Council on the Arts. Besides being well-known as the home to Ocean City’s Pops Orchestra and the Miss New Jersey Pageant, the Music Pier also offers year-round cultural and musical events, the Ocean City Flower Show and the Artisans Weekend. For the last three years, it has hosted the Stockton Summer Concert Series with nationally known performers, and Stockton’s summer programs for children."
ursus,
My guess is that visibility is very limited because the music pier is a level auditorium. It seems those in the solarium would have almost no view of the stage. I think there would be a breeze from the ocean in the evening to help along with air conditioning.

Actually I believe this is the entire seating viewed from the stage. the diagram shows a sound booth 2/3 back and it is visible on the left side of the image along with the 3 rows of seats next to it.
this looks to be a small venue which is great for attendees.

Yes, I believe the solarium is the sunlit area at the very rear with windows behind overlooking the sea.

Since the seating area is flat, it can be quite hard to see if you are short.

That looks quite nice from the outside, not so nice inside. That cramped seating looks uncomfortable.

The Music Pier is a versatile venue accommodating different kinds of events like the Miss New Jersey Pageant, the Ocean City Flower Show, the Artisans Weekend, and Musical events, thus the seating is apparently flexible/portable as intended. Judging by sales and the popularity of the yearly festivities of this event, I think attendees don't mind not having theater seats.

I hope someone provides a video of Jackie's performance/s at A Night In Venice, and also of her waving to all from the Grand Marshal boat in the parade. I expect she will have a great time there with all the festivities.
