So you are not going to answer the question. BIG surprise ... Also no surprise is you "HATE". No doubt if you ever gave an honest answer to why you are so negative all the time, the fact that you "HATE" would be a huge factor in why you do, what you do. Giving an opinion is fine, even normal. What is not normal is stating the same opinion about the same subject OVER AND OVER again. Once your opinion has been voiced and seen by the few people on this forum there is no need for constantly repeating it. I get that you don't like some of my opinions, but let me suggest, get use to it. By the way you also don't get to dictate what others say around here or how often they are repeated.... the positive or the negative.

You can repeat your same statement all over again because you clearly don't like the answer that you were given, but too bad.

I know that Lisa has said that Jackie can't sing Danny Boy because she gets too emotional, but I would certainly love to hear her sing it again. Actually the part about Jackie getting too emotional was made up by her OTT fans, Lisa actually said that she thinks Danny Boy has just been over done too many times. (Not the exact wording) Danny Boy is no more emotional than singing Concrete Angel and some of the other songs she has sang.

That song just doesn't hit my emotion meter.

What happened yesterday actually brought some closure to my fixation with Jackie's Danny Boy and even her singing in general. So I will be wrapping up my input here after a few final thoughts/ posts. I don't understand. You joined this forum 13 days ago. You were gungho and the second biggest musher gusher after Christopher. You listened to a mediocre song Danny Boy and were crowing about everything she did with it and how great it was. Now apparently you don't like it anymore and are no longer a fan of Jackie. You say you are leaving the forum. What the hell happened?

You say you are leaving the forum. What the hell happened? Rick, my friend, why all the jumping to conclusions? I know I'm a poor writer, but help me out here, lol! Where did I say I don't like Jackie's Danny Boy and no longer a fan of her and plan on leaving the forum? What I actually said was that I was experiencing closure to my fixation or obsession with both her and that song. By definition, fixation/obsession is not a healthy thing. It was also coming between my wife and me. You should be happy for me. I also said at the beginning of this thread that this was an outlet for me. It actually helped me get to the point where I'm at now. I also was talking about concluding my input on this thread because it had served it's purpose. I didn't say I was leaving the forum unless I'm not wanted here. I'm a little surprised that no one commented on the Shenandoah video. It may have helped everyone to chill out, lol! It has such beautiful dissonance, which is kind of an oxymoron. What would you say if I told you that I had won the lottery Wednesday the 22nd? Think about that for a few seconds, lol! No, I didn't. Sorry. 😀 What did happen, though, was mathematically more improbable. And I can say that with some authority since I have a degree in Mathematics Ed. 😁 I really want to share a lot of the details, but am afraid I would just bore everyone to tears because of all the explaining I would have to do.

Oh, and PS. I still think her Danny Boy is a Masterpiece. There are no flaws in it.😛😉

As I understand it, that was an exception to the "first take" rule with Jackie; DF had her do it again and again until it was exactly the way he wanted it. ISTR LE saying something about a rubber room if Jackie had to sing it again. So it may be about the discomfort rather than the song itself.

And the relevance of that would be...? Am I the only one on this forum that can tell the big difference in her voice on DB compared with the other songs she recorded in the same time frame? When I first heard DB I thought for sure she was younger. And I would like to ask DF whose idea was it for her to sound like a trumpet or did she do that subconsciously or maybe even her "angel" helped her. After all, I've seen where she says she asks God to sing with her or that an angel comes. And she also claimed to be a very truthful girl. There is no denying the trumpet like timbre to her voice in DB. Doesn't bother me one bit if she never sings it again for whatever reason.

There's hardly ever any relevance in what cer and several others here say. This is a site for those who lost their soap box when the Amazon swamp closed their discussion forum. None of the Jackie Fan Site would allow their constant irrelevant rants, so Rick gave them a home where they can belittle Jackie, her family, and her talent and accomplishments. There are those here that can hear and appreciate the many facets of Jackie's voice and her amazing control of it. DF is always very demanding, and he was with Danny Boy, but I believe it was, as always, Jackie's gift of being able to be one with the music that makes her Danny Boy a Masterpiece, and instinctively matched her timbre with the trumpet, for the greatest effect on the listener.

The relevance is quite simple. You can love Jackie's singing, but not always like some of the songs that she sings. Just seems to me that some of her most OTT fans have a hard time dealing with that.

You Wish. Dream on cer. NONE of Jackie's fans care one way or the other about what you OVER THE TOP individuals think about anything.
