You are very obsessed over that song Danny Boy! Where you see a moving song, I see blah! I suspect that the first time someone listens to Jackie sing, whatever she is singing will become a favorite. The following is mine.

Jackie's Danny Boy isn't really Danny Boy because Foster changed the lyrics in a couple of places. This detracts from the song in my opinion. Then throw in the godawful trumpet and the half speed tempo and what do you have? You have a song I never listen to.

Today is a day I will remember for the rest of my life, even though that might not be much, lol.
Two people outside of my family have greatly influenced my life. One male, one female.
The male, went by the name Jack, because he hated his given name, Clive. He is best known as C. S. Lewis. He died November 22 (today) 1963, the same day as JFK, also known as Jack.
He postulated a well known trilemma which I will not get into here. I got hooked on to him as a boy reading his beloved Chronicles of Narnia.
The female, goes by Jackie and I got hooked on to her in August of this year.
Today, around 2 AM, this 63 y.o. hefty man was driving a semi on the PA Turnpike within a mile of Gibsonia, PA with tears running down my face listening to MTC version of Danny Boy. My delivery was in Middletown, PA, the home of Three Mile Island and township of Londonderry. Danny Boy is known as Londonderry Air!
And that was just the tip of the iceberg. More to come, but I need to get ready for my next load, which, btw takes me back on the PA Turnpike and past Gibsonia.

You are very obsessed over that song Danny Boy! Where you see a moving song, I see blah! Haha! I thought everyone on this form was somewhat obsessive over Jackie. J/k. I'm really not an OTT fan like some. I don't worship Jackie and I find MIB and TWWW on 2 hearts borderline bland and usually skip over them and yet, others declare them the best ever! Blame my obsession on Jackie's angel that sings with her, lol! Which brings me to Jackie's Trilemma, which, although not stated, is very much implied concerning her singing. Liar, delusional, or truthful? Hmm.....?

The following is mine. I had seen that once before. Thank you for posting it. Oh those eyes! Lol! Danny Boy was not my first Jackie experience. SFTSS, bought by my wife of all things, was the first I had heard her voice since AGT which was probably just a few seconds since I thought her voice was unnatural and she was being exploited. I didn't and don't care for SFTSS. I think it was the Lord's Prayer where I first became hooked and downloaded DWM. The rest is history. Danny Boy came later. If anyone had told me I would be experiencing what I am now, I would have laughed my head off.

A couple hours down the interstate, drop and hook and return. Sleep at home every night. Look. I hate to be a goody two shoes and all but if you keep rollin' down the interstate with tears streaming down your face I may have to alert the DOT. I think you should reserve Jackie's Danny Boy for rest stops. Just sayin'.

I think you should reserve Jackie's Danny Boy for rest stops. Just sayin'. Haha! Not to worry. I won't even talk with my wife on the phone with my Bluetooth headset when I'm going through a city or busy workzone. I've covered almost 1/4 million miles in 20 months and thats with e-logs, 65 mph governor, and losing 4 weeks due to downtime and both of our mothers dying last fall. Never once have I encroached on another divers lane, though have had to swerve may times to avoid being hit by another trucker while I'm passing or being passed because they are careless with keeping their trailer in the lane. I'm afraid my poor writing skills have betrayed me, again. I said running down, you said streaming down. In actuality, a couple tears welled up in my eyes, seeped out of the corners and slithered down my cheeks. At no point was my vision or attention impaired. Sorry for being overly dramatic, lol. I'm very conscientious about safety when I'm driving and haven't been in an at fault accident in my over 45 years of driving a vehicle, including motorcycles. Also, I haven't really cried over Jackie's songs in weeks because of having played them so much and when I did, it was usually a few teardrops while I was at home in a quiet environment. Those few tears yesterday were from the MT Choir version that I had just heard for the third time. First being at the rest area just hours earlier. Hope that clears things up. ☺

Then throw in the godawful trumpet and the half speed tempo and what do you have? You have a song I never listen to. Actually, Londonderry Air has had many different lyrics (including many hymns and gospel lyrics) written to it over the years. Do you understand all the songs Jackie sings in a foreign language? I don't, but that doesn't keep me from enjoying what she does with them. Now as far as the trumpet playing goes, I don't know what to say to convert you, so I wont. Lol! No worries, my friend.

What happened yesterday actually brought some closure to my fixation with Jackie's Danny Boy and even her singing in general. So I will be wrapping up my input here after a few final thoughts/ posts.
I'm grateful for Jackie reawakening my first passion which was supposed to lead to my career but never did. My wife says my imprisonment in my cab has led me to be more sensitive to the music because I have no other outlet while I'm driving up to 11 hours a day.
Danny Boy speaks of Love, Lost, and Longing. Jackie captured that for me and I will always be grateful for that gift.
Yesterday, I heard the MT Choir's version of Shenandoah for the first time even though I have heard many of their other songs.
Like Londonderry Air, it's origins are vague and the song has morphed over the years. If you have never heard this before, I have 2 recommendations. Don't let the slight Melody change keep you from enjoying what comes after the 2 minute mark. Use some quality headphones and crank it up as safely as your ears can handle.

There is obviously a very good reason WHY Jackie doesn't sing it anymore at her concerts. Some of her most devoted fans might not be very happy about it, but for some of us, we are quite pleased.

You do nothing but lambaste everything and everyone associated with Jackie. You have made several post in your FAILED attempts to belittle this great rendition of Danny Boy. You had already made your opinion of Jackie's Danny Boy perfectly clear, so why keep repeating yourself. I'm serious, please tell me what you get out of being so negative constantly?

Well you have obviously failed in your attempts to convince me, and JE herself it appears that Danny Boy is a great song for her to sing over and over again at her concerts. You obviously aren't paying attention because I have said positive things about Jackie. Here is an example of something positive! I'm quite pleased that Jackie is working on some new songs and she will be performing at some NEW locations.

Here is an example of something positive! "Here is an example of something positive!" Really ... you're going with that, it's what everyone like you does when they are questioned as to their reason for being NEGATIVE all the time. No doubt you will have nothing good to say about these 'new songs' after they come out. I have not, and never will, attempt to 'convince you' of anything. You did not answer my question, " please tell me what you get out of being so negative constantly?".

When Jackie does something that I like, I will state it, but when she does songs that I dislike, like Danny Boy, I will constantly voice my opinion on it as well.... I tend to prefer a more honest approach instead of lying about songs that I HATE.

Also no surprise is you "HATE". No doubt if you ever gave an honest answer to why you are so negative all the time, the fact that you "HATE" would be a huge factor in why you do, what you do. Giving an opinion is fine, even normal. What is not normal is stating the same opinion about the same subject OVER AND OVER again. Once your opinion has been voiced and seen by the few people on this forum there is no need for constantly repeating it.
