I have to come back to this when I have more time to listen, but you weren't kidding about eclectic! Going back to my American Bandstand days, does any of these 'Have a Good Beat', " Can You Dance To It?' I know what most of us like to hear her sing, but is that what she wants? My pick is anything from the 70's-80's. A heavy metal ballad would just be lovely. I bet Peter would love that.

Good question: ...is that what she wants?
I have no idea, but then again do we know if Jackie and Peter plan to continue working together after her next album release?
If she decides to go back to a more classically themed collection, the accompaniment could also change.

1. Il Mare Calmo Della Sera 2. Song of the Angel 3. O Jerusalem 4. Lament of McCrimmon 5. Foolish Games 6. Comment est-elle? 7. Slave to Love 8. Vincent 9. Michael From Mountains 10. Something 11. Hafsol I'd buy that. Mike, you didn't name your album: how about "Song of the Angel". I imagine Jackie would do very well with Joni songs, there's lots of subtlety about her lyrics and melodies. Sigur Ros is a bold suggestion, very out there like some that Charlotte Church has done.

OK, "Song of the Angel" is the title track. I know Jackie is probably not too crazy about the angel thing right now. But I remember William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy tried to break away from Kirk and Spock, only to later embrace them. Sigur Ros isn't so bold when you consider that Sarah Brightman did one of their songs. She had English lyrics written. But Jackie should sing the original Icelandic.

The guitar player/lead singer in the Sigur Ros video is certainly proving guitar strings are much less gentle than those on a violin. I wonder how often he re-strings that bow?
I can imagine Jackie making that song her own, as she's done with many others.

Wayne, you left out a major kiss-of-death, damning by faint praise review from American Bandstand days; "My kid sister would buy it." Lol

I can imagine Jackie making that song her own, as she's done with many others. Originally, someone gave the bass player a cello bow and he didn't like it. So, Jonsi the guitarist began using it and the rest is post-rock history. As a teenager I saw Led Zeppelin do Dazed and Confused, where Jimmy Page used a violin bow on his guitar. From my desk at work I can look across the street and see both the arena where I saw Zeppelin in '75 and the theatre where I saw Jackie in '13. I like drone in music and would like to hear Jackie's voice set against it. That's partly why I also chose the Hildegard von Bingen and Sheila Chandra songs. BTW, I can't imagine a crueler fate for a singer than that suffered by Sheila Chandra. Tragic. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheila_Chandra

bgstar, I love Lux Aeterna. And Adagio was one I thought about putting on my list. I like Lara's "Je Suis Malade" a bit better, but it seems less Jackie-ish than Adagio.

Summertime from Porgy & Bess
Sweet Dreams of You - Patsy Cline's classic -it would make a great finale for Jackie's concerts.

I too like Je Suis Malade sung by Lara, but then again, I like everything sung by Lara. I find it to be very dark. Although I have heard it sung by young girls, I don't think it would be appropriate for Jackie at this time. It is a song of despair, the use of alcohol and the emotional downside of losing a lover and being left alone.
