I think it's easy from the outside looking in to formulate certain theories, but it is all circumstantial evidence.
The bottom line is Jacob/Juliet is the only person who truly knows how they felt and why they followed the path they are on.
I too find it unfortunate if Juliet's path had any negative impact on Jackie's career, but family is important to Jackie.
I fear Juliet may be too caught up in the web of celebrity to see that.

Congrats on your new title. May you have an effective journey through the bumpy roads of this board. I hope your opinions are fair and just to the rules of this forum (even the ones that do not have a number). Rules rule. My comment on the special is, I've always thought when you buy a ticket to see a horror movie you cannot go tell the manager you got scared. You know going in what to expect. Jacob knew becoming Juliet wasn't going to be a comedy but a drama with a lot of side shows being the sister of a star. Maybe two years ago the family sat down and had a meeting and decided this would be a good road to go down. Career paths are not day to day but year to year. I don't think Jackie was very snarky during the show. A real reality show Jackie would have said 'I bought you a new body, b...., even got you bigger ..... than mine.' That is what a Kardashian would say. We don't want that, do we?

I feel sorry for Juliet, seems not much going on in the brain department when her biggest goal in life is to be on the cover of some magazine.π (This reply is to be spoken in a deep southern accent.) Heck y'all, the biggest goal in life for most of my friends is to catch a 10 pound bass or shoot a 10 point buck.

Among her goals that we know of are to change federal law, and secure a life partner. And, AFAIK, being on the cover of magazines can pay pretty well. Yeah, Juliet looks to me like someone that has a lot of ambition. Like Jackie, she doesn't heed the voices in her head that say, no you can't do this. I understand Mike when he tells her that she's been through a lot and that it's too early to strike out on her own with Deven. He just wants her to have a little well-deserved peace. But those kids were raised to take the bull by the horns. To me, Juliet seems to be intelligent and to have good verbal reasoning. The magazine article she wrote was well-done. Also, she took on Joseph Stumpf in a heated exchange on Twitter. While he was ranting, using vulgar language to describe her mother and insulted her directly in an obscene manner, Juliet kept her cool, didn't sink to his level and persuasively put him in his place. I think she should go to college, go to law school and become a civil rights lawyer.

What issues? The issue is self created. Juliet could shut up about being transgender and try to pass as a real woman. She won't because transgender is her only avenue to fame and she craves that. Jackie could shut up about it, stop letting Juliet use her, and get on with her singing career. She won't because when it comes to Juliet she is a wimp because she has let Juliet lay a huge guilt trip on her. The other four aren't affected at all unless they choose to be affected. Neither Jackie, nor Juliet, nor anyone else wanting to help other teens understand that they are not alone, that there are others like them, and many others who are there to offer support and help to them. By speaking out they are keeping some teens from suicide, and helping many others so they DO NOT NEED TO SHUT UP. If you disagree with them, fine. If you want to state your opinions on the issue fine, BUT you do not have the right to attack them, nor to tell them to shut up, no more than I have the right to tell you to SHUT UP. Rick said Jackie & Juliet COULD !!!! he didn't say SHUT UP , Admins make the rules not a member plus yes the Adult is using the child , you may tell us we COULD shut up , that is fine but then there is no forum . , ps the only question is is wimp a attack ? , perhaps acting as a wimp is better , we have members that do that

All I understand at this moment is these young people in particular that have come out regarding their being transgender are among the loneliest and most courageous young people you might ever meet. The open lack of acceptance and abuse heaped upon them is insane and I would say to those abuser that they do not possess even a small fraction of the intestinal fortitude that these young people demonstrate. From what you've stated here, gordie, we can understand Jackie's deep compassion for her sister, the loneliness and possible desperation she probably would have experienced were it not for a loving and accepting family providing their encouragement. Jackie has often expressed her admiration for Juliet's "bravery" and pride in her for having taken the risk to reveal herself and the determination to make her identity truly meaningful with purpose. I would consider Juliet a role model for transgenders. Perhaps a little too early for ROLE MODEL , she may still awaken as Jacob , lets give her time

I had to reply--- I posted this on another forum ( not Amazon) After viewing the clip, here is my take for whatever it is worth: As you must remember, I predicted they would go for a reality show at least a year or more ago, when Miss Evancho started having her transgender sister appearing with her on television in all of her interviews. Juliet got a ton of publicity on the tail of the Caitlin Jenner "reveal" at the time, and I personally said that I thought the Momager ( Mrs. Evancho) was trying for a t.v. show. The reality of reality shows is that there has to be "drama" or people will not watch. So, in a way, the producers have to make "characters" out of the family. My guess is these are the "characters" the family will play: Lisa Evancho-- the tough, foul mouthed matriarch who rules the roost And as she stated "Superstar" daughter's career Mike Evancho ( the father) A man who is pretty much passive and is ruled by his wife and the oldest girls. Jackie Evancho-- The pretty teen age Diva with a sense of entitlement, who gets her way. Juliet Evancho-- the Transgender sister who wants to compete with said Diva Zack Evancho -- the kid who honestly does not want to be there at all ( kind of like Anna Nicole's son, Daniel on her Anna Nicole reality show years ago did not) Rachel Evancho-- the youngest daughter -- not sure. Maybe the normal one?? Anyway, I plan to watch it. As I said, i want to see the boyfriends-- especially the one who wants to marry the transgender sister. Also, the behind the scenes stuff at concerts, etc could be interesting as well. WOW !!!! i find this OUTSTANDINGLY insightful , right on the target imo , are you from the Burgh ?

Our dear sweet as she is Jackie is going to pay a high price for this imo , a comment like ...i would give up my career for my family ...or to that idea , people will think well with million of $$$$$$$$$$ in the bank it may be more easy to say that . i had hoped she would had people with good wisdom helping her with comments being a minor yet , but i fear not the case .

No gender studies major please. There are a lot worse things Jackie could spend money on in this world than college for her brother and sisters.
