This is, as the younger Jackie might say, "so amazing"

I know. I just haven't figured out how to get rid of it. Can't you just delete the post? I wish. I tried but I haven't figured out how to do that.

I wish. I tried but I haven't figured out how to do that. On my posts, if I want to delete a post, I click on the Post Options gear on the upper right of the post and select Delete Post from the drop-down. JMO ☺♪♫ You are a genius. Thanks.

Thanks, Colt45! What a fun video that is! The horses were so cooperative, too, standing nice and still!

Somewhat related:
Major depressive disorder is the leading cause of disability in the US for ages 15-44. The US suicide rate increased 24% during 1999 - 2014 (CDC, 2016)

Also, Schrodinger, major depression can be a sometimes unidentified issue in the elderly as well..... No matter what someone's age though, if there are signs and symptoms of major depressive disorder they need to see someone who can accurately diagnose the situation and provide help.

True, but the stat just says, after 44 something else is the leading cause of disablility. I don't know how they figure multiple causes of disability. If you're already depressed, physical deterioration doesn't cheer you up much. The statistic was cited in this lecture from the Santa Fe Institute. The woman was not an especially engaging speaker, was why I didn't post it. I was just struck by the statistics. Here's some more:
During the same period, 1999-2014, Suicides rose 59% for white men age 45 - 64. Suicides rose 80% for white women age 45 - 64. Suicides TRIPLED for girls age 10 - 14.
These numbers were so big as to strain belief. Here's the CDC article they are probably from. www.cdc.gov/nchs/products/databriefs/db241.htm The lecture also states that suicides are up worldwide, too, (according to WHO) but didn't give a number.

Those statistics are really chilling, aren't they? Wow!! Also, they actually might even be higher, as not every death which was actually a suicide is noted as such and may be attributed to other causes. Gee, isn't this a cheery topic?!

But the video I did post was pretty uplifting, I thought, despite its forbidding title. A friend of mine whose brother, a gulf war vet, who is trying to kick alcohol, thanked me for it. What do you think?

I have to admit that I have not yet watched the video......overall, this is a very serious topic, and definitely the more ways it can be addressed, especially in an upbeat, positive manner, the better.

For people struggling with "the black dog" I recommend listening to and watching Jackie.

This is why I named the thread the way I did. I wanted things here to be helpful, as well as entertaining. When I was a fairly new fan and started reading comments from fans, I was struck by how many seemed to be tough guys, especially military veterans. I remember a tweet from a gang counselor and one of my favorite YouTube quotes is "I'm a big angry martial artist, but I tear up every time this child opens her mouth" . After reading more fans' discussions and meeting some in person, I learned that a lot of us have suffered loss, of a spouse, a sibling, even a child. A lot of times we have to harden ourselves, just so we can function. Jackie's music, I think, gives us a place where we can be with our emotions again. Jackie and her family are known to be altruistic people. So, why not help each other.
