F.O.S. best fits your lifelong disposition. Fake news Robbie, I've never owned a pair of Rose colored glasses and never will. I made a bet with someone that you would be the first to respond to my post, and all I can say is "winner winner chicken dinner". 🤗 You need to change your name to T.C., Totally Clueless. Guess again, trust me F.O.S. has nothing to do with rose colored glasses.

Gordie says::She is out of the cocoon and taking to her wings --- soon to become a seasoned flyer. Yes sir, and apparently she has hatched and with her new found wings she can now fly to her gigs all by herself, no need to waste money on airline tickets. 😊 You still don't understand the metaphor, seemingly beyond your grasp. Did you actually read Gordie's post or just choose his concluding statement to make a mockery of it? "Seasoned flyer" means having gained the life experience to understand the emotional significance of songs that in her childhood she could not fully comprehend. I don't think you care to understand anything, rather intent upon ridiculing any member who comments on anything related to Jackie's early years, regardless of the content. This attempt is a demonstration of foolishness and ignorance. You could have just admitted your misunderstanding and moved on. Thxs for trying to clarify things for "Johnnyb". It never occurred to me that I might need to text at a lower level of comprehension for him. I fear that your explanation may still be too high to be understood by some. I will undertake an effort to seek a lower common denominator so that some won't feel left out and feel not having a chance to enjoy what many of us experience about the life of a young woman who shared a lot of herself.
Perhaps having such a low level of comprehension is the root of possessing an abusive nature.

I think when it comes to lecturing anyone around here about having a low level of comprehension.... look in your own mirror first.

Thxs for the suggestion. Indeed I did look and considered the source of the suggestion at the same time. It was startling because the reflection was a total stranger to me and I concluded that the reflection was that of the suggestion source.

Look deep into your own reflection and you will see yourself. I truly believe in miracles. Just not turning people into angels.

When I created this thread, it was my intention to reminisce some of the voices we had heard in our young lives. Of course it soon became focused upon Jackie's early years and has received valuable contributions to that end since. However, I'd like to turn back the page momentarily in remembrance of an actor I'm sure most of you remember who passed away Nov, 2017 at 87. He played a goofy character on the Andy Griffith Show, seemingly not too bright but sensitive, and then on this spin-off. Who knew then that he could sing? What a voice! RIP, Jim Nabors.

This really belongs in the Other Artists threads, but this does bring back some cool memories.

It is interesting that at the conclusion of the video with Jim Nabors, there appears a list of 12 other video performances and one happens to be Jackie singing Danny Boy.

It's also quite ironic that Danny Boy is still a song that Jackie hates. In response to being asked why Jackie didn't sing it in performance, She Who Must Not Be Named said if Jackie sang it again, it'd be from a rubber room. Apparently it was a rare exception that took a lot of takes to satisfy DF; and whether or not Jackie didn't mind the song at first (this wasn't entirely clear, although one might suspect she merely tolerated it at first), she was utterly sick of it by the time it was done. Will that eventually wear off? Probably not on demand; maybe after more years, or if she were to perform in Dublin, or something like that (although for that, Carrickfergus or learning some popular Irish song in Irish would perhaps be better).

What list are you referring to? Are you sure it isn't YouTube's suggestions for the next video to watch? This would likely contain at least one Jackie video if you watch them frequently.

That is exactly what I was trying to reference. If I understand your note correctly the YouTube suggestions for other people might be different and not even contain a Jackie video. Even if my note now is not "interesting", I find yours very interesting. Appreciate your follow-up to my note.
