I've started this partly to take the discussion away from the Social Media thread. I prefer not to block people, as I wish to know when the conversation has degenerated to the stage where I don't want to be associated with that group. If a friend came to me and told me to checkout a singer and I could see an up-to-date discussion about her on Amazon, firstly I would really think there is something amiss with the person who recommended that forum and secondly I would most likely not follow up on that singer. After lurking on Amazon for some time I found the actions of some posters to be disgusting, I moved to CC as I was not interested in gossip but wanted to stay updated. Then it became spammed with dribble of questionable content, sorry its the best way I can describe it. So I moved to the official forum, till it closed. This was unfortunate but needed to happen. So I ask, how much is one person worth if they drive away two people? Is the value of this board judged by - Count or posts the entire board makes
- Count of active posters
- Count of lurkers
- How comfortable the Evancho's would feel in reading this forum
- How much does this forum help with Jackie's Career
Or - Count of posts one person can make
- Counting the warts on Jackie left elbow
- How many people can I get to agree with me that I know how to manage Jackie better than her current team
- How much dirt can I dig up to slam on Jackie's parents
To me the best way forward for a fan forum is to: - Provide and share up-to-date information to help kindle interest in Jackie's career, in-so helping CD sales, social media hits and Concert sales.
- Enable contacts for social interaction around concert events.

... So I ask, how much is one person worth if they drive away two people? Agree about the purposes of a fan forum. We have struggled with your question, though. How would we even know? We can't be sure about the reasons lurkers decide to become members unless they say so, & we especially don't know if they decide not to. Say we have a poster who is very active but who rubs some members the wrong way. It's generally good to have an active forum with lots of posts. But I confess to sometimes asking people to tone it down, & sometimes I have to tone myself down, LOL. The ignore feature is helpful in some cases. I really don't always know how best to handle these questions, but I know that we admins keep trying.

I find it especially disconcerting and unacceptable that anyone on this forum would use it as a platform to scrutinize Jackie's parent, sibling or management. It shows a lack of sensitivity and respect, and is, in my view, an insult to Jackie. One cannot ethically call one's self an admirer and supporter of Jackie while criticizing or in any way demeaning her loved ones or those associated with them on her behalf, regardless that free speech is a convenient excuse to express ones personal objections or disapproval. Certainly, justifying such intentions as being in Jackie's interest would be preposterous.

I don't know about if I would have said "preposterous", but to me, criticizing even my best friend's parents or siblings is outside basic etiquette. Unless they were to go first, and you happened to agree. Even then some caution would be called for. Criticizing a friend's business associates would fall under a different rubric, if you were concerned for their well-being, but still you would want to be delicate; you wouldn't want to assault them with OTT rhetoric. Some might say, we are not Jackie's friends, we are fans- but I prefer not to make that distinction. Some also might say, this is complicated by the fact that Jackie's parents are in a way, business associates; however, blood always comes first. Also it comes into consideration if what you are saying is public, not private.

My contention is with those who publicly criticize and assume to know better than Jackie's parents and her team how she should be managed. I consider that a public insult to Jackie suggesting her parents are incompetent and not acting in Jackie's best interest. Would Jackie consider that legitimate concern for her welfare?

What you consider is just a opinion from you and does not matter as from me , lets see what happens when she is a adult , btw people have the right to think what they think of management of a career not meaning a insult to the artist personally , i for one believe who ever is on her team is not very good and lacking in insightful and hurting her career .

It may depend on the person that leave , do they want to be here ? are they a asset to the forum , we can't be puppets or cones , we all have opinions and thoughts to talk on a forum , it will not affect a career much as one can read the top bill boards artists and see that .

The Quality of a forum is as good as the members and what they bring to it , some poems or songs or articles or humor or drawing , all kinds of stuff , their insight of the career of Jackie or predictions or out of the box creative threads , the more the better a forum is , enjoy your self as it is later then you think , tick-tock tick-tock as time flies . I get over 115 views a day on just one thread of Jackie Talk in the UK because people want to read odd or silly or funny or serious or sarcastic puns or just Stuff , it all good if life is good , Bless thee all or Best of health or Enjoy now cause you can't get out alive . Jackies' career is in slow motion now but there are forums to entertain .

Are her parents not part of the team? If you "do not care for her team", do you not care for her parents and how they are influencing Jackie's career? Not intending to be argumentative. Would just like to know where you stand with regard to them.

CLeonard, Jackie's parents have been Jackie's managers for going on seven years and have been in total control of her career. Her career and sales have gone consistently down hill do to their stupid decisions, lack of sense, and mistakes. Fans who care have every right to talk about this.
An example of one of Mike's major lack of sense stupid decisions was the infamous Jackie doll. I told him at the time it wouldn't sell. He didn't listen, but I was right. They couldn't give them away.

I have no idea how much parents are involved in team or career and I only mean How her career is managed , I have talk to Mike in the past and received one of few likes from Lisa , all I know is with a Voice as Jackie an personality an how likeable she is , something is lacking imo , I think they kept her in music of older fan base too long , she has never been a real teen yet on stage , where are the duets with her own age ? , where are some lighthearted music ? where is the teen as in GO TIME ? , no where to be seen yet .

Thank you for your thoughtful response Beachguy. I appreciate your perspective that Jackie may have been denied her teen youth with regard to her music. I hope you appreciate that my perspective is different and just as valid. I see nothing lacking with Jackie. Can we agree to disagree.

Personal or abusive criticism of Jackie or her family is out of bounds IYAM. But criticism of how the Evanchos have managed the business of Jackie's career, as long as it's respectful, is fair game. I agree with Rick about this.

I agree with Rick about this. Completely agree. I myself have blocked members who have made cruel comments about Juliet. But just the other day I pointed out that Jackie's official web site is being neglected. Am I not a genuine fan, then, because I criticized management?
