Must be a private concert, since no word came out about advance ticket sales.

Too bad she evidently doesn't have time for a longer trip. China is endlessly fascinating. But still, it sounds like a great opportunity.

What would be great is if the trip involved singing with Jane Zhang who Oprah called "The Chinese Pop Diva". She has had dozens of number 1 singles in China with hundreds of millions of fans. One show in China on TV was watched by 400 million people! Jane Zhang thread here
Here she sings the famous diva song from the movie "The Fifth Element"
I believe Jane is to release an English album as she is trying to become a world-wide singing sensation.
Jane has done enough popular movie and television theme songs to recently release (I believe on 1/6/2017 in the US) the compilation album "Starring Jane".
The exposure for Jackie would be gigantic given who Jane is.
Sony Music Taiwan publishes Jane's music.
Here she is singing "Bang Bang" (original by Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Jessie J on their "My Everything" album) in virtually perfect English.

How about this for an idea. While the Chinese President was visiting the US and meeting our President The Donald was bragging about his inauguration singer and showed him a vid of Jackie singing the Anthem. After seeing that he invites her to China to sing for him. We all know The Donald likes to brag and anyone hearing Jackie is likely to want to hear her again.

This doesn't surprise me. Hollie Steel has performed in Hong Kong on more than one occasion. They were corporate events. Jackie has a much higher profile. As much as I like jrchico's idea, I'm going to guess this is corporate, not governmental. Trump does like to brag, but he's also fixated on loyalty to himself and he's unlikely to view Jackie as loyal right now, especially since he thinks he helped Jackie's sales.

I hope she doesn't get arrested as a spy for taking pictures there.

Doubt it has anything to do with Trump. A friend of mine, who is living in that part of the world now, suggested it might be for this: Beijing hosts the 40th Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting from May 22 - June 1. If it is, good exposure for her

If it is, good exposure for her How do you suppose they were exposed to Jackie and her music? Well, public civic events like that are usually leavened with a little entertainment. Remember the Russian Economic Conference which kicked off with a free outdoor concert, where Jackie was included with 2 famous opera singers. In this case, it could be being part of musical entertainment at a dinner for attendees. By exposure, I meant to the sort of prominent Chinese businessmen who attend these things and might remember her for other gigs.
