If we're expecting dramatic changes with Jackie, we may be deluding ourselves. Just because she is "legally an adult" now doesn't mean she'll suddenly do things differently. I doubt she will begin "kicking butt" and start hiring and firing like a new CEO because she has the right to. Some might be too anxious to see things happen according to their personal wishes and ideas. I don't think Jackie will abandon relationships, professional or familial, to satisfy those who have grievances. In fact, she has demonstrated a tenacity in standing for her convictions and ignoring disgruntled and disapproving opposition, especially with regard to defending her family and others she is closely associated with. However, she is smart enough to seek professional advice, but not necessarily upset the apple cart unless she becomes justifiably dissatisfied at some point or uncharacteristically goes nuts with personal ambition. I suppose her newly found responsibilities will be directed toward production matters, artistic decisions and the like. We'll see if anything significant happens with management, in time.
Psychologically Jackie is a teenager who hasn't graduated from high school yet, still thinking and acting as one, emotionally and socially. Let's let Jackie be Jackie and not try to fit her into our "adult" expectations too quickly. Let her gain experience in her own way and at her own pace, make "mistakes" (usually subjective judgements anyway), experiment and be the explorer she is. Meanwhile, I assume she will rely upon those whom she loves and trusts. Loving Jackie is to love her for who she is, as she is, in the present living her dream as she chooses. For me, it's all about the music and watching her grow as an artist. As long as she's happy and continues by whatever means to record and perform, I'm happy.

Words of wisdom from David Foster (an interview involving Jackie).
I've occasionally said this has been a transition time for Jackie, feeling her way through changes, professional, artistic and personal. It seems longer than we'd like. But, she has been anticipating the challenges of young adulthood and the direction of her career with the worrisome concerns that accompany it as she takes charge, not to mention having to deal with the emotional stresses of the past two years.
For that reason, I am not impatient about Jackie's relative inactivity. Perhaps she's retreating somewhat as David advises; and yet she continues to work, conservatively I think, bringing us another new album by the way. I'm still willing to give her the space and as much time as she needs. She's going to do what she thinks is right and what's comfortable for her, wisely in my opinion. I imagine one day, figuratively speaking, she will emerge anew in some way, having built upon her extraordinary experience and advice she has received along the way. And, she will do it with characteristic courage and a revitalized determination. She is again demonstrating a happy spirit and enthusiasm. To me Jackie's future as an artist, near or beyond, is not so much to be expected as to be accepted as it unfolds.
One thing is certain. Social media is not among the skills in her "magic bag"! So let's not get too annoyed with her about that. I mean, how much magic should we expect from her?
Edit: Btw, that's Ruben Studdard singing "Hey Jude" with Jackie at 0:41? She began the song, and Ruben came on stage to join her followed by other singers.

"The music kind of possesses me when I sing. So whenever I start to sing on a show – I mean, first, I’m nervous, and then when I get into it, it’s just like I feel like I’m the person who sang the song first."

I've never had much interest in zodiac signs. But, having come across this on an unrelated search for a friend, it does seem to characterize Jackie. (not to be taken as fact)
ARIES: March 21 -April 19
"Strengths – Aries is courageous and is considered the strongest sign of the zodiac. Rushing forward without fear, ready to take on any challenge or battle that comes their way, these individuals won’t hold on to the past and wallow over things that are dead and gone. Their positive characteristics are enthusiasm, optimism, independence, strength, initiative and generosity.
Weaknesses – The greatest weakness of those born with the Sun in Aries is their stubbornness. The pair of horns they carry around on their head won’t let them give up without a fight. When their boundaries are shaken and they feel fear or anger, they will show their short temper and lack subtlety to resolve the situation at hand. If they manage to keep their peace through challenging times, there is really nothing that will stop them on their path.
As children - Aries need a lot of understanding and tenderness with their incredibly high energy levels and their outspoken personalities. Years can go by with their awareness of situations in which they hold their tongue never moving from the starting point. They don’t understand secrecy, silence and blind obedience, and create a lot of trouble out of spite if pushed too far. Honest and direct, they will respect and love their parents no matter what. This is why they need to be respected in return, with their freedom intact and their personality allowed to grow, even when it seems wild."

WHO IS JACKIE EVANCHO?
Most of us who have followed Jackie from her performances on America’s Got Talent in 2010 (and some who knew about her before that time) have pretty much held her in very high esteem and put her on a virtual pedestal. Her high standards have been a beacon in today’s world of teenagers going wild. I do not know if she has a ‘dark’ side that is not shown in her stage and personal life. The entire album Two Hearts is actually 'showcasing' the various genres in which she performs. Really something for everyone! The songs that she has written, if you believe the words show a teenager looking for WHO IS JACKIE EVANCHO? Her life up till now has not been normal in any sense. She has claimed she has had an enhanced childhood, but half her life has been under a microscope and she seems to have weathered it all pretty well. Looking back at the Songs from the Silver Screen, her rendition of Reflections appears to have been something she would have written. Her body of work over the last nine years is worthy of an entire career for most artists. She cannot be classified as a Pop, Classical, Classical Crossover, Country or Rock. She has carved her own niche which defies being one or the other. In my opinion she has absolutely ‘nailed’ every song she has performed. I look forward to enjoying hearing her sing the rest of my life. Going where few dare to go, I will state for the record that I see a very beautiful (and sexy) young lady who has not used a lot of skin and flash-bangs to change her image. She still projects the clean-cut ‘girl-next-door’ all American Girl. At this time I am seeing Jackie trying new and different genres to further her career without going crazy. I keep recalling the interview many years ago where she actually stated that she wanted it all! Go Jackie Go!
Any skin lately ?

Capture by CL. Text edited from eu. usatoday I agree with her statement. I think what she is hoping for is that a certain segment of her older male fanbase will finally treat her like an adult and not that little girl anymore!

She is beyond that, wanting to be acknowledged by those to whom she has had to yield her creative ideas in the past and by those who might doubt her capabilities. She wants to be taken seriously as an enterprising young woman with her own creative vision and direction, not only with her music, The Debut being her first significant creative endeavor, but also her artwork and other interests.

It matters most that people like David Foster acknowledged that she had a musicality at 10 that was way beyond her years. I believe that now she is a young adult, she really is beginning to be acknowledged in a manner that appeals to her by those that really count big in her career.

Jackie is 22 now, having been afflicted with a debilitating eating disorder since she was 15 that became progressively worse, eventually leading to her being treated at an inpatient facility in 2021. In a recent interview with People Magazine, Jackie speaks about her struggle with anorexia. ___________________________________________________________________ Excerpts: "I'm still struggling, but I'm fighting, which is good because a year ago I was giving in to it completely, and that's so dark and painful," Evancho says. "I'm not healthy yet, but I have been able to implement healthy coping skills and better eating habits."..... "Since I was a kid I've put so much blood, sweat and tears into my career, and to see that sort of fade away because of this demon in my head? No, I'm going to fight this now because you can't take this one thing from me.".... Evancho has also been working on original music, having recently returned from a songwriting trip to Nashville, where she found drawing on her experiences cathartic, she says: "It's opening old wounds, but painting with the blood; it wasn't healing, but it was making something beautiful out of something painful." Adds Evancho: "There are still issues, but they are so much better," she says. "There are days where I feel helpless and hopeless, but I'm sick of living like this." ________________________________________________________________________ I wonder when her original/s will be released. That should be very revealing, artistically, poetically and with perhaps a somewhat different vocal style, giving us an intimate view of who Jackie Evancho is today from a painfully personal perspective. people.com/health/jackie-evancho-reveals-osteoporosis-diagnosis-amid-anorexia-battle/

He label certainly won't produce any music she wrote (Fred only produces professionally written songs), and she hasn't even released her latest album yet. When she does, she will be focused on singing Joni Mitchell songs and doing concerts for the next year.
