One of the best versions i have seen. FYI, the video actually starts towards the end of the song, but you can push it back to the beginning. About this song and video I have this to say: If I remember right, I have heard that Jackie has said she does not like or want to sing this song again. I don't know why but I have this idea in my head that perhaps Jackie doesn't want to sing it because she might not be able to finish it in concert as she may find herself crying mid-song. I don't recall anything that says she cries for any music, but I know her voice has made me cry numerous times in the middle of her singing. I have to say, that child with the long stringy hair on horseback really gives me the chills. But don't get me wrong. Jackie hit it perfectly with this version. And I got the wet kleenexes to prove it

We've heard repeatedly that Jackie doesn't like to sing this song. I always hope someday she'll change her mind. It could give her career a much-needed boost. Here we have a century-old song, beloved by millions, recorded by thousands, & along comes a 10 year old American girl who records perhaps the most beautiful version ever. It seems impossible, but there it is. In listening again, her voice is much stronger now. Maybe someday...

I remember that her mother ,Lisa, saying that David Foster had her singing this song several times to get the inflections "just right" and because of the repeated requirement, Jackie or Lisa did not wish to sing it again. So we owe it to DF that the resultant song is so great.

Yes, perhaps DFos was a perfectionist that day. But after all this time, maybe Jackie might be willing to take a crack at the song again...

Lisa does not like Danny Boy at all. That might have something to do with it.

Over the many decades of my life I have heard many 'Irish tenors' sing Danny Boy, and I was never that much moved, and that goes for Deanna Durbin's version as well. On the other hand, Jackie's version is incredibly beautiful and moving especially when given on Youtube in the form of a tribute to fallen soldiers. Let me add that Chris Botti was superb on trumpet.

Danny Boy video (fallen soldiers version) is at 980k views, and is likely the next to pass 1 Million. I hope Jackie sings it again, but that is more likely to happen in 10 to 20 years than sooner (based on my intuition only).

"Danny Boy" mash-up with Judith Durham, Jackie Evancho and Sinead O'Conner.
Publisher's note: What do a folk singer, a Pop Rock revolutionary, and a Classical singer have in common, an original love for music, Ireland and the Irish ballad Oh Danny Boy. The contrast in styles and melodic concepts were unique and quite profound in their delivery. But yet in a beautiful way, unified in emoting this tragic consequences of war, and love lost. Judith rendition was captivating and was a classic rendition of the Irish Folk ballad and done to perfection, Sinead's performance on the other hand, was stripped back, just her acapella voice and her emotional interpretation , with political reference at the end. Now Jackie was just 10 or 11 years old, but her classical, almost operettic voice was simply a wonder of nature. She could not emote on the same level as Judith or Sinead, But Jackie more than made up for it with her pristine crescendos. Hope you guys enjoy, I sure did peace Grant

The Fallen Soldiers version of Danny Boy has over 4.65 million views. The video used in the mash-up with Judith and Sinead has 2,595,560 views, and there is another with 634,217M, plus a couple more uploads. That makes Jackie's Danny Boy one of the most viewed of her recordings on YouTube at about 8M. Here is a reaction to it by MichiKent, who is totally enamored with Jackie's voice, having uploaded 8 reactions to her videos. The audio quality is not as good but sufficient:
