I am sure that a lot of our members here have ideas on how to improve this forum. Your suggestions would be appreciated and if reasonable and possible they will be implemented.

As no one seems to have any suggestions we must be doing pretty good? Yes. But I was having trouble seeing the change after I clicked the "like" (thumbs up) button. It used to turn to pink on the old forum & white here, but I could barely see the latter. Rick just changed it to teal blue, & I can see it now!!! Yay!

I have two suggestions.
1) In the previous forum, clicking on a thread would take you to the latest post which you had not read.
2) The videos thread should be sub-divided into major threads which indicate the year in which the video was taken or else the videos will be difficult to access in a very short time.

Thank you for these suggestions! Actually, for me, the most recent post will pop up when one is looking at the listing on the right-hand side; I click on the thread name and the post then comes up. That is a very good point about subdividing and organizing the video section so that it is by years, as you're right, otherwise in no time it could be very unmanageable! Well, right now it is pretty manageable but i am not too sure about how it is going to work 50 years from now.

Should interviews fall into the "Jackie Videos" year by year, or should they have their own section apart from performances, possibly also divided by year? What do you think.

We have a thread for that. It is in subjects of interest to forum members. Ah. I see. Just need to change the title to interviews, plural. I suppose there won't be so many as performances, so maybe subdividing is not necessary, at least now, but perhaps in the future to make it easier for people who like to do "historical research"
(edit add): But maybe interviews are important enough to appear in the "Home" layer, rather than among the pet videos, etc.
Folks should be aware that when there is a "new" marker in "Home", and they click that, they will be taken to the bottom layer; when they have read that, the "Home" new marker goes away even if there are other new posts they have not read in the next layer up. They will miss these unless they click just one layer up, in the line between the two blue lines at the top of the page, where they will see other "new" markers. Is there a way to make the "new" marker stay, at "Home" as long as there are unread posts in the whole tree?

I don't know. Maybe Rick or robinb can answer that one.

Schrodinger, I have added a video board called Jackie Interviews and EPK. I think it would be too bulky to also divide this into years. I don't know how the New marker works, but I'll look into it.

Should interviews fall into the "Jackie Videos" year by year, or should they have their own section apart from performances, possibly also divided by year? What do you think. There are some vids which are combo interview/singing. There were several making of DWM & DWMIC vids, & she did it more recently with the Apoc vids/TV interviews. So trying to separate the interviews from the vids could get confusing. It would be easier to separate them by year or by "era": e.g., pre-AGT, AGT, DFos/DWM/DWMIC, SFTSS/MOTM, AWK, singles. I'm omitting HC, but maybe it could be combined with OHN & the new Xmas album??? Or all they all separate? Doing it by year obviates that problem.

Good point about the combos, but usually those are pretty rudimentary interviews, just an intro to her song. I was thinking about the longer interviews and podcasts. But it looks like one is set up now, so people can find it when they want to post one. Speaking of which, about an hour ago I saw the radio interview from Milwaukee Festa Italia, somewhere on the forum but now I can't find it.

I see the thread I started "Christmas Performances" has been moved to be under the Board "Christmas Videos" - so I would like to change the title to "Silent Night with the Canadian Tenors" or just delete it, and re-post it in Rick's thread "Silent Night." How can I do one or the other, or does an Admin have to?
edit add: never mind, I got it.

If possible, it would be nice in the Concert thread to have each of the specific concert threads show up in correct chronological order.
That way one does not have to hunt around for all the concert threads for October 2016 as they will appear in correct order. And yes I know that the events are in correct date order in the summary thread, but it still is a pain to find the specific concert threads because they themselves are not in correct date order and the thread titles are in a non-standard format.
In addition, I would use a standard format for the concert thread titles constructed such as:
- Date (can be switched with Type) [as Month-Day-Year] - Type (can be switched with Date) [such as Concert or TV Appearance or whatever - make up a list people can use] - Where [as Name of Theater/TV Station/whatever and location such as City,State or Foreign Country,City] - When [in the US many people prefer a 12-hour time with format of hh:mm AM or hh:mm PM unless, of course, one is in the military who use a 24-hour time. Typically the leading zero is eliminated. Also, the use of "12 noon" or "12 midnight" is many times used to avoid confusion even though by convention 12 PM is noon and 12 AM is midnight. Of course one could combine to have 12 PM (noon) or 12 AM (midnight) as the forum convention so that one could also put extra pertinent info in the parentheses]
Side Note: Even if the Admins cannot force correct chronological thread ordering, it still would be nice if the titles where consistently named as a minimal fall back.
