Last time, I didn't think Matt the Miller's food was anything special, but maybe I shouldn't have ordered the shitake mushroom burger. The servers were excellent, though. They had portable devices that allowed us to pay our bills separately and took care of us quickly as we filed out. My flight from LAX to IND was memorable, too. I had a window seat and the two seats next to me were empty. I sprawled out across the three seats and read a Tami Hoag page-turner crime novel, like I was at home on the sofa. I don't expect that to ever happen again.
I had a 5th row ticket, off to the right. Another fan that couldn't go gave me a 7th row, dead center ticket, on condition I give away my old ticket. I hung around the box office, but no one showed up that needed a ticket. I went inside and up to the top level behind the stage, found a guy with the worst seat in the place and asked him if he'd like to sit on the floor.
Best memories were Jackie telling us about hiding John Mario's shoes, during which John Mario turned around and blew Jackie a two-handed kiss. Jackie also brought back "Se" to this concert only, as an extra song. The acoustics are so good here that I could actually *feel* Jackie's voice. It was like sitting with a warm quilt pulled up to your chin.

Hmmm. Indy 500 qualifying is that weekend! The race is 5/28. Could I plan a week long vacay there? There's a lot to see in Indy the week before the race. My favorite is the free car show on the Soldiers and Sailors Monument Circle. You will see old Indy cars, customs, hot rods and some Pebble Beach Concours ready classics there. That's the circle that gives Indy the handle circle city among us OTR truckers. For a week long stay the World War Memorial, a few easy blocks from the circle is a unique mausoleum style monument to Indiana vets fallen in the war to end all wars is not to be missed. It's a huge building, about twenty stories tall surrounded by a great park . Oh, that annoying occasional hummmmm overhead is the Goodyear Blimp blimping about . There's a pretty good race too. www.flickr.com/photos/24555384@N00/5547388106/in/pool-projectweather?ytcheck=1This is the War Memorial photographed from University park. In the background to the right is the Soldier's and Sailor's Memorial commemorating Indiana's Civil War contribution.

Isn't it about time to start a list for the gathering? It's agog who lives right down the street from here, or something, right? Matt the Miller's Tavern really is just a few yards from the concert hall. The FB groups should be told, too. Otherwise, it will be like the California concerts, where half of us didn't know what the other half were doing.

I have two-hundred buttons from Nebraska Stephen so there will be plenty to pass out. After this coming Saturday I'll be free to see the people at Matt the Miller's to see if we can get the same back room that we had at the last Carmel concert. Tell ya what buddy: your first (but not subsequent) shitake mushroom burger is on old agog. Lol

Let's start a gathering sign-up list. In the tradition of the old JEFC everyone should "signu up."
