This was only true for the first one ( DWMIC) produced by David Foster - the others were less-well received, especially the last one, Awakening. I don't think it aired past its originally scheduled showings. Early on, Jackie took advantage of the surprising little girl-big voice phenomenon. As that's worn off, she's tried to evolve her music. Personally, I think she still may be doing too many covers & not enough original music. It should be nice to hear her vary her sound more rather than sticking to "pure" CC, though, as she seems to be doing for 2H.

It appears that it will not be on PBS in the Houston, Texas area. Would be nice if someone could record it.

Seems odd that neither Tampa-St. Pete PBS affiliate is airing this special, although it was recorded just one market away in Orlando.

From Amazon:
Two posts, both by SW:
I saw the first half of the Fernando Varela PBS special, which included Jackie's duet of A Thousand Years just before the halfway point. I think it may be Jackie's best duet. Her voice is equally as loud as his is in the audio balance. Varela also sings an emotional, if not technically perfect from a classical point of view, version of Nessun Dorma, and he goes for the high note at the end.
I just resumed watching the Fernando Varela special, and Jackie does a second duet with him at the beginning of the second half, The Prayer. It was quite good also.

I noticed some big gaps in the local PBS TV schedule for the end of March and later. There may be hope yet.

Has anyone put A Thousand Years on YouTube? Or is it only on Vimeo? Is there some kind of copyright issue?

OK, stick with me: While these 2 videos (by Jackie Junkies) remain, my posts on the "Jackie Evancho Fans Around the World" Facebook fan page (with these video links) was removed today. And a poster commented on the 2nd video, saying he saw a video link posts (same video) had disappeared from other fan forums. Also, it is interesting that JJ always cross-posts his new videos onto his Facebook page too, but this time he did not (or they were deleted). Could FB be enforcing a "ban" for these particular embedded links, even while the original sites (Vimeo and YouTube) do not? Or were the individual fan site administers given a request to delete the imbeds? Background:Realize that the present reality is that YouTube usually allows you to keep a video up, even while informing you that someone else has copyright (has happened to me). That is so the rights holders can collect per-play "Adsense" (Google) ad money (from even an artist's fans) and distribute them to rights holders (like Jackie and Sony). (That amounted to many thousands per year for the (now deleted) "TopShotUS" and "JimJosh64" videos.) I do not think YouTube was responsible for these site deletions, as it was against Google/YT's financial interest. I completely agree that Sony and Jackie should have those per-view ad revenues, from their sites or even fan sites. BTW all these deleted videos will be allowed to come back, in my opinion - JJ is up to 126 videos. In conclusion, I think FB responded to a request to delete links to these videos, OR the individual fan sites responded to such a request (but same videos are still up, not deleted in America's Sweetheart JE). However, the videos on Vimeo and YouTube stayed I think, because of preexisting agreements with the rights holders not to delete them, but instead allow them to stay up and collect per-view revenue from them. I'm contacting the JE Fans Around The World administrator and JJ and ask whether they deleted it, or Facebook did. Don

FYI, I have copies of both videos in HD. Take a breath... Many reasons to copy videos you like right away it seems. Don (Edit Mar. 9th): Videos still exist but links to A Thousand Stars on all the major FB fan sites are gone.

I now saw this two duets a couple of times. I didn't see the PBS Special (not possible in Europe), but I'm quite sure, this performances counts to the highlights of the show. Jackie has the ability to make every duet uniqe, outstanding, unforgetable. If I would be a singer, I would choose Jackie for a duet. With every performance Jackie shows, that she already is in the top of the first league of singers and entertainers.
