Willyiam, My only answer to that is: "Romance of the Mission Gala" is an expensive annual black-tie and dinner fundraiser for the Mission of San Juan Capistrano honoring its supporters, Madeline and James Irvine Swinden. Perhaps it falls in the category of Appearances and Special Events such as others that have not been listed on her site, at least as I recall. lawrence; I'm not too sure the Capistrano event can be labeled as an Appearance or Special Event. Usually, in an Appearance or Special Event, the gig is being held in a Home, Hotel or Country Club and she shares the stage with other performers. Here, she will be performing alone in the ruins of the Great Stone Church, which is kinda like a venue:

The concert is only part of the event and it's activities. I can't find anywhere a reference for ticket sales, only that attendance is by reservation in its advertisements. It seems then that the event is not relevant to inclusion as such in the list of concerts on Jackie's site. Even if it were included, there would not be a "tickets" button available for purchasing. Apparently that was the reason the Vacaville concert notice was delayed, awaiting the opening date for ticket sales. Maybe it could have been shown with a notice of reservations only, or something to that effect.

That looks like a perfect location for her next PBS special - too bad they're too CHEAP to film another one! I'm saying this partly because our local Dallas PBS station (and no doubt the others too) are currently in the middle of their now-quarterly begging session. The only choices seem to be interminable reruns of old Bocelli concerts; Peter, Paul, & Mary for the thousandth time; flim-flam artists flogging fake health and weight-loss programs; Susie Ormond giving Trump-like financial "advice"; etc.; etc. ad nauseum. I don't think there's been anything new - of course, they'd have to PAY for that! It's somehow hard to believe that Jackie's last concert at Longwood was such a flop they won't take another chance on her.

Imagine it in the evening with colored lights accenting the stone walls. And then, fireworks to cap off the concert from behind the mission. We get Celtic Woman and Daniel O'Donnell re-runs, The Oldies are played over and again along with repeats of the British dramas and the junk you mentioned. None of Jackie's specials have ever been aired here, DWM having been one of the most successful PBS productions. I quit looking to Public Television for music entertainment, because it doesn't offer anything new. Unfortunately, it's the only broadcast source for true art in music. Sadly, it seems the public interest isn't great enough to support anything current.

Annoyingly, since I posted that there actually have been a (very) few NEW offerings - crammed with seemingly endless begging, of course - some of them worthwhile: a documentary about the career of long-time TV fan favorite Betty White; a Rick Steves liberalist travel "special" promoting Globalism; and most frustrating, a concert by the (Canadian) Tenors filmed in another neat old theater in Toronto that just cried out for Jackie to again accompany them!

Information for serious website authorsI will be relinquishing the domain name bestofjackieontheweb.com when it expires on July 4 2019. The Concert Database will remain on line at its real address: jackiecentral.com/bestofjackie/ I have already changed the links on jackiecentral to go directly there. I will put a redirect page "We have moved..." on bestofjackieontheweb soon, for people who have saved that link. So, if anyone wants to own the domain name bestofjackieontheweb.com, snap it up after July 4, or we can arrange a direct transfer. Details: Dot.com domains are about $20 per year. It is currently registered with godaddy The reason is that I am retiring from full time employment (yay!) and am tidying up my finances. All content will remain online, just the address will change. I took over the bestofjackieontheweb domain when it was relinquished to reduce the loss of Jackie fans (broken link syndrome), but that goal has been achieved. This time I control the transition (via redirect) so no such problem. So, if you want to create a brand new fan site at bestofjackieontheweb.com with an already established presence, this is your chance! (I can provide lots of help, being retired and all!) cheers Robinb

Jackie Evancho Fans is a Proboards Forum created by Rick Olsen, filling a gap created when the semi=official Proboards Fan Club closed in 2016. The history of Jackie's proboard forums has been characterised by some drama. They together represent the personal diaries of Jackies fans, in good times and in bad, since the very beginning. Ultimately, 'Jackie Evancho Fans' is a sincere expression of fandom and should be respected, to the degree that free speech should be respected. to add: 185 members 40/day active viewable to non-members

Robin, I mentioned the other day you should run Jackie's media empire.
I just went to Jackieevancho.com and it is just about The Debut and about her. N0 other links to anything but Spotify and Apple, plus tour info.
I went to Jackie Evancho You Tube and it is still LDB and 2H's. Nothing new. Has she quit YT due to all the deletions?
I then went to You Tube Jackie Evancho VEVO and there was Somewhere, but with only 4,000 views. However, there are 138k vevo subscribers, with -100k YT subs.
So I just went to iTunes Jackie Evancho and The Debut was listed with all her other albums. But the cover photo was when she was 11 or 12.
If she is after the younger group, they need to be able to find her stuff easier.

This could be a problem they need to attend to for it seems no new fans appear on forums as it is either people who know her know where to look and young people are lazy enough not to take the time or to look around even social media .

billie, Fan site numbers continue to grow, see jackiecentral.com/archive/stats/stats.htmlAgreed, it has been a quiet year with growth around 10% compared to 30% in previous years, but numbers are not going backwards as you imply. One large forum would not work, because the demographics are split by both age and country/language. Perhaps you yearn for a return to the old Proboards sites? Perhaps a group of younger fans will create a new dynamic forum on Instagram or elsewhere. (Jackie's instagram grew 7.7% last year). The change of artistic direction is not, I believe, accidental. In the meantime, we old barnacles remain stubbornly in place. We may be gnarly and inefficient, but we hold the planks together, against the gritty erosion of the beach, until a better canoe comes along. cheers

Good reviews, Robinb. Thank you for the research. I think the Danish site is the most extensive source of readily available information about Jackie. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the "Gallery" section of photos under Misc. no longer exists. It was very large and always current. I find no mention of it in the "News". It seems to have been replaced by "Upcoming Events" (concert and tour dates).
