Tickets are kind of high for this performance maxing out at $103.75. That could be a factor. Lots of people can't pay two or three days wages for a two hour concert.

I'm very suprised, that there are still a lot of tickets avaliable. First Tier (1 avaliable) and Second Tier (2 avaliable) are practically sold out. Directors Circle is more than half avaliable. And in Orchestra 2/3 of the seats are avaliable, which is very strange. Normally this is the first location which is sold out in a Jackie concert. As I said already, it seems very strange for me. A concert in Jackie's home town should be sold out since month. www.trustarts.org/performance/51030/tiers/showI'm very confused. I just did a look via the link above and it shows now, that First Tier and Second Tier is completely unsold. In Orchestra practically nothing changed. If you look at this map there are app. 10 to 20% sold. If this is map is correct, it looks like it could be a disaster for Jackie. I really hope, there is something wrong. I can't believe it. It's unreal for me. There are only a little more than 3 weeks to the concert this is awful, maybe the worst selling concert I've ever seen of Jackie's. And in her hometown. There really must be some sort of negative backlash, likely to the bathroom lawsuit against the school district and the publicity around it. Can't think of any other reason that Pittsburghers would stay away in droves. Jackie has done so much good for Pittsburgh, helping charities, etc.

It is indeed quite poor. I find it hard to think that so many people are shunning JE either because she performed at the inauguration or because of her and her families stand on LGBT issues but it certainly looks like that is the case.
The tickets are indeed expensive but not out of line with what they are going for elsewhere. The venue is fairly large, but isn't it the same one which she has used before?

But now, when you look, First Tier and Second Tier are nearly the opposite, they are unsold. That is not normal. Can somebody explain this?

Hopefully it is a glitch. It will be extremely worrying if what we are seeing is indeed correct.

I realize that there is currently a fair amount of confusion regarding the level of ticket sales for this concert. Regardless, I will move on with planning our fan gathering, per the following:
Anyone planning to attend the Pittsburgh FG, please pm me or add a comment here, and include the number (and names if possible) in your party.
Reservations at Braddock's Brasserie Restaurant, located in the Renaissance Hotel, 107 6th Street, Pittsburgh, have been confirmed for 5 PM. We will be in a private area on the 2nd level of the restaurant. It is only a few blocks walk to the Benedum from here. There is a parking garage just across the street, as well as two (2) others closer to the venue.
Here is the link to their website:
braddocksrestaurant.com
I will continue to add further updates, as new information is received. Last time, we had a special menu provided for our group, but I'm not sure if that will be offered this time. Braddock's is famous for their pierogies, so if you have never had these b4, I would recommend giving them a try. They are a Pittsburgh tradition.
Thx, Len
Here is our current list of attendees: Len Rausch & eight (8) - Phyllis - Norma - Rachael - Ava - Missy - Nicol - Daniel - Leila Ken & Johanna Varn Diana Lynn Smiley - Vanessa Jack Babbert Jim Wood Rick Lizzari PJ Trautwein Mike Ferguson Catherine Novak - Julie - Guest1 - Guest2 Tim Whitenight - Guest
Current count = 24

Don't forget about third party ticket brokers/scalpers/resellers trying to make a killing. This used to be a problem a while back. Big blocks would appear as sold and then reappear as available at later dates. I think this went away as Jackiè's novelty wore off and concert sales decreased. Because of the inauguration and Pittsburgh being her hometown, this could be part of what we see from outside. They may be trying again. I kind of doubt that this îs the biggest factor. It could be that locals are overloaded with local PR about the lawsuit, especially parents with younger children, or the inauguration NA appearance. I think that this concert is sponsored and is unlikely to go away. If that happened, it would be worse than less than optimal attendance. Maybe Jackie fans close enough to drive or otherwise go should try hard to help out by attending this one.

$100+ is not out of line for a concert with a full orchestra. Who knows what is going on, but there might be some shenanigans by block buyers/resellers since Jackie's new fame. Also, some concert halls consider seats further back to be more "prime" than the front rows, especially if the front ones are so low you can only see the front tier of orchestra musicians from there- and seats in a given section may be cheaper if they are far off to the side rather than central.
(edit add: apparently my impression that there was going to be an orchestra was mistaken- no mention of it at the Benedum site here trustarts.org/production/51029/jackie-evancho )

Schrodinger, after reading your post I perused the posts in this thread to find out about the orchestra you mentioned. I didn't find any notice. It may be my sloppy reading. Please help. On another thought expressed here by others I am considering attending this concert to support Jackie. I suggest other fans here consider making a longer trip than might otherwise be considered. An extra dozen seats sold won't make a great difference but I'll feel good about it and others would too. There are several online friends attending that I haven't seen since Longwood Gardens. P-burgh is six or so hours drive from Indy and I will need to miss a day's work to return on Monday. The Carmel concert is twenty minutes from my door so I'll sure be there.

Schrodinger, you aren't following my main point: It makes NO difference which section is highlighted - they ALL say the same thing, that tickets are between $43.75 and $103.75. It makes sense for orchestra seats to be $100+ but it makes it look as though there are orchestra seats as low as $43.75; conversely, balcony seats are also shown the same way! Do you really think there are any seats in the balcony that cost $103.75?!? It just seems a sloppy and confusing way on the part of the theater to display the seating.
