Likely Christmas concert. Jackie's last Thanksgiving weekend concert, Portland '13, was a Christmas concert. This is on Black Friday. Wouldn't you all rather be in Red Bank for a Jackie concert than out there shopping with all the frantic crazy people? I plan to start the holiday season not shopping, but listening to Jackie singing O Holy Night in one of the best sounding concert halls in America, per Tony Bennett, Art Garfunkel and Lyle Lovett. I went to Jackie's last concert here and those guys are right. The acoustics are so good, Jackie's voice will envelop you.

I posted this last year in the Red Bank '15 thread at the old forum. It's called Red Bank Boogie. Fits a lot into less than two minutes, doesn't he? There's a bust of Count Basie in the theater lobby, in front of a large B&W photo portrait.

I suggest The Dublin House for the fan gathering, which is where we met last year. Ross Silver selected it and it was an excellent choice. On the same street as the Count Basie Theatre and only a block away. Good food of different types and reasonably priced. Great beer, not quite as reasonably priced--but what can ya do? We went back there again after the concert. The kitchen is open till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, so people who eat light before the concert can have a full meal afterward, if they'd like. I'm not one of those. I had the bangers and mash with roasted onion gravy, which was just as good as it looks in the picture, along with a Guinness stout. Post-concert: yummy caramel cheesecake, with quite decent coffee.Good wait staff, as well. www.thedublinhouse.co

The Dublin house sounds like a great place to meet. Is anyone else going to be there or sign up for this. You only have 3 months to get this organized.

Well, it seems weird for one California fan to nominate another California fan to organize an event in New Jersey. I've called the Dublin House and was told they would be open on Black Friday. I guess I could manage another couple of phone calls. Last time we had a table that could have held twenty, but only five of us showed up. Might as well start a list here to get a better idea of how many are interested.

Those interested in gathering at The Dublin House prior to Jackie's Red Bank concert, please post your name and/or nickname in this thread to be put on the list. I'll start it.

I started a list in the fan gathering thread to see who would like to meet at The Dublin House prior to this concert in Red Bank.

Ok, I'll call them in the morning to see if they can accommodate us. I last called them three months ago, but not since then, because it looked like I was going to be dining alone. Wouldn't be the first time. We already have more for dinner than last time in Red Bank, when there were just five of us.
There is a single Row D seat available and a few others in center orchestra. I encourage anyone not stuck doing something else on Black Friday to attend this concert. C'mon, this is better than being at Wal-Mart. Take my word for it. The acoustics are so good at the Count Basie Theatre that last time I could actually feel Jackie's voice. Tony Bennett said this was his favorite place.

We need a Plan B. I called this a.m. and was told that they have another group to accommodate on Black Friday. The mgr needs to hear from the owner. I told them 10 people. Supposed to call me back today.

The Dublin House called me back and said they couldn't reserve our group. I told her that we currently only numbered seven and could she find out if that would work. She was to have called me back again, but didn't.
We need a Plan B.

I tried again and told they are not taking any more reservations that night.
