Didn't know where else to put this! I recall going to Sony Masterworks site several months ago just to see if Jackie was listed as one of their artists - she was not listed. Today, she is back and it looks like she never left. I thought we deduced thru old Proboards conversations, that Jackie no longer had a label and she was now independent? From what I'm seeing on Masterworks, they are still representing her. What am I missing? sonymusicmasterworks.com/artist/jackie-evancho/JMO ☺♪♫ If you look at the concert dates, these are the most complete from what I can tell. It is a lot more up to date than what is on Jackie's own site.

Jefan -- it can be easy to miss the way Proboards handles quoted material, etc., but the key is to go to the space after the line demarcating the person's post you are quoting. Does this help?

Thanks, Colt45! That was such a fun video! Even though you used my handle, and I knew what you were responding to, by not using the Quote function, you are putting all of those members (me included), that use the Recent Posts, at a disadvantage. When you don't use Quote, the Recent Posts only shows your post and the reader has to drudge through the entire thread to find out what and whom you are replying to, whereas had you Quoted, all recent posts would be shown. JMO ☺♪♫ You'll get me trained right yet, Colt45!!! LOL! I see what you're saying though, about those who use the "Recent Posts" being at a disadvantage; I'm still jumping back-and-forth between using that and simply going down through the list of boards and looking at them when there is something marked as "new." Old habits sometimes die hard. Oh, hey, Colt45, I just discovered a neat thing! OK, so I had started responding to your post without using the quote function and realized that, oops, I was doing it again, just what you'd been mentioning, and then just for the heck of it even though I already had started a reply with text in it, I clicked on the "quote" function -- and voila! Your post -- the material I needed to quote -- was magically in my text box along with the text that I had already written. Now that's cool....... I have to say, I am really impressed with Proboards and the slick and very functional ways they offer participants on a forum. If someone doesn't do something one way, there's always another way to try. That is really excellent and not usually found in forums which are free to set up and run. Wow.

OK, Colt45 and everybody, after a while when one hits the "quote" button a whole string of previous posts shows up, which may or may not be desirable. This is an interesting learning experience for many of us here, I suspect -- on the other Proboards forum I simply popped in, read the threads which were of interest, commented or didn't comment, and then moved along. Now on this new forum I'm taking a more active role. I for one find it rather annoying to wade through a whole bunch of previous posts also being quoted when I am really only interested in picking up on a few comments that someone in the most recent post has just made...... Heh, I'm reminded of the early days on Usenet groups and "netiquette," where the idea was to simply quote only what was necessary, not repeat the entirety of anyone else's post, much less a whole string of them. That was back in the days of limited bandwidth, of course, long before cable internet access, FIOS, etc. When we were still typing our responses as a text-only format even before the graphic interface platforms came along, things were very different!
Anyway, yes, I, too, have noticed that situation with the "Recent Posts" icons showing and yet there not being a "New Post" icon on the threads inside...... That is one reason I've tended to flip back-and-forth between two methods of seeing what's new here.

That is one reason I've tended to flip back-and-forth between two methods of seeing what's new here. I tend to not use the quote button simply to keep the thread from getting cluttered up with the same post over and over again when they are long posts. Once in awhile i will shorten the post i am replying to as i have done here as a demo.

Done. OK! Now all the posts are gone that you and I were Quoting. Where is the problem that you were mentioning that you were going to rely on other posters to delete you quote? don't know what you mean?

I get what you are asking. Answer. If you make a post and later have second thoughts and want to change it, but in the meantime someone quoted you, you are no longer able to change your post in their quote.

I was able to delete all of our posts as i used my powers as an Admin. If i hadn't i would only have been able to delete my posts and yours would have remained along with a copy of mine.

If you make a post and later have second thoughts and want to change it, but in the meantime someone quoted you, you are no longer able to change your post in their quote. You are 100% correct! So!!! In the rare occasion that that might happen, I still would rather have all of the new posts available in one place with Quotes so I don't have to spend time going through every Board and Thread looking for a New Post icon that seems to be incorrect at times. And, taking the time to EDIT your post before pressing the Create Post button, might alleviate the "second thoughts" problem. JMO ☺♪♫ Ok..Just remember. If you say something i don't like i will immortalize your quote.

You guys have been having fun here, eh?! Basically, it is really helpful if people can trim the material they're quoting (especially if it's a post which is long and wordy, the kind I usually write!) so that the gist of whatever the quote contains is there and others can refer to it as they're reading the newer comments. When a photo or video is included as part of the quote, that really can be annoying to see the same image repeated over and over -- so a simple reference to the video or the photo works just fine without keeping the image included in the quote.
However, in the end, what really matters is that people feel comfortable posting in whatever their particular style happens to be and that they enjoy participating in the discussions.

I avoid guoting posts that contain pictures or videos and just reply in a manner that alludes to the post, so as to avoid duplicating the media on the page. Maybe just an OCD thing with me.

Safe And Sound has passed one million views. Will Apocalypse beat WOTW to that milestone? It looks close.
