I thought some might appreciate the lyrics as Jackie sings Eliza Hamilton's devastation and anger at Alexander's having shared with the world his transgressions with Maria Reynolds in a public pamphlet hoping to salvage his legacy. Angelica, to whom she refers, was the second child and eldest daughter of Elizabeth and Alexander.

Comments from the "Burn" video this morning: (285,161 views, 6.6k likes, 847 comments)
"Jackie , just finished listening to the full album (The Debut) and can't begin to describe how happy I am with this. Standing O from me. I guarantee I will see at least one of your concerts on this tour. So excited for the different tempos, the harmonies, the song choices. I had never heard most of them but I am on the 3rd hour of replaying and you really should be so so proud of yourself. Congrats on a job well done."
"The more I listened the more I realized how good this really is. I'm normally not a fan of the genre mostly because it's usually not well performed. Listened to others. Her renderings were very well crafted and thought out, as well as with an amazing array of voice colors . She doesn't have just a beautiful voice, but also a very musical mind. I think of I'm Not That Girl and She Used To Be Mine as musical soliloquies."
"Since my last comment I have spent more time listening The Debut and I have since changed my mind. This is outstanding. I like how Jackie uses her chest voice more and she can actually belt it out. I am really impressed with how she can sing in this voice and yet also sing in her classical voice. Not many if any pop singers can do what Jackie has just done. This is really good. My favorite's are Burn, Million Dreams and Falling Slowly. BTW, Jackie's version of A Million Dreams is the best I have heard of that song. And just think, the best of Jackie is yet to come!!"

This is an unfortunate perception of some people unaware of Jackie's independence as a recording artist and her creative endeavor to portray Hamilton in a contemporary context. I think that is in part due to there being no reference to the musical under the title. Many comments reflect the misconception that "Burn" is an original by Jackie for that reason, and that she has been manipulated by "the industry" in producing this video.
One comment as an example:
"Well, the industry turned another one out - too bad. She was much better and more successful as she was. Her style and the "new" girl don't mix. She should be true to herself, luv to see that girl again for sure."
Reply:
"She is now under her own label. The huge corporate Sony Music Entertainment-Masterworks/ Portrait label is out! She has 100% creative control. That is a very good thing!"

Recent comment on the video:
"Sadly her voice doen't FIT the POP mold. It's TOO GOOD."
Reply:
"Pop is also part of Western Tonal Music. Remember pop music from great American vocalist of decades ago? What Jackie is doing is bringing back the melodic vocalist. Listen to Frank Sinatra and Nate King Cole and lots of others in that era.? Those guys understood melody, harmony, rhythm and timbre. Jackie is bring that back into the popular genre. This is a good thing."
Some listeners don't understand Jackie's intention with this music, unaware that "Burn" is from a Broadway hit musical, thinking this an attempt at Pop, even an original about her own experience. I attribute that miss-perception to there being no mention of its origin in the publisher's notes. Perhaps that was intentional.

An odd way of looking it. I don't think her voice is too good for pop, some of her fans just don't care for this version of Jackie. However, they better get use to it.

In a way, it's unfortunate that reference to "Hamilton" is not in the publishers notes. Some still think this is Pop music, or an original, unaware of it's significance to Broadway. Apparently some kind of legality prevents it. Most fans, of course, understand Jackie's intention with this video. Some comments are from Classical snobs such as the one above and this one:
"THIS ATTEMPT TO CROSS OVER INTO SOME TYPE OF "POP" MUSIC IS FOOLISH AND THIS SONG IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF A GREAT VOICE BEING TOTALLY WASTED MESSING WITH LOUSY MUSIC, LOUSY LYRICS, AND GENERIC, UNDISTINGUISHED CONTENT. THIS SONG, FOR INSTANCE, HAS HER SINGING TOO FAST AND LOSING THE IMPACT OF THE LYRICS--WHICH ARE ALREADY VERY MEDIOCRE. GO BACK TO YOUR CLASSICAL ROOTS! STAY AWAY FROM POP TRASH!"
"Jackie has introduced "Burn" to many new fans. Thank you Ms. Evancho for honoring this fine musical and showcasing the art of the American musical theater"
"Hamilton has grossed $463.3 million"
(...In 2016, Hamilton received a record-setting 16 Tony nominations, winning 11, including Best Musical, and was also the recipient of the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama." -Wikipedia)

Why does anyone that doesn't care for another type of music is a troll!? How about respecting the fact that some people have different taste in music that is just different from yours.

Why do people who don't like a particular type of music and especially an artist of that genre make a point of seeking that artist's videos just to make it known? Like, why would a person who doesn't like Jackie's music make a point of joining a fan forum in order to make it known that his taste in music is different, has no interest in buying her albums or attending her concerts? Doesn't make any sense, does it?...Unless there's a reason to be contrary and intentionally voice his distaste. One must assume that reason is to be disruptive (a troll). I don't care much for opera or country, so I don't listen to it...simple. My respect for an artist who's music I don't care for is to leave him/her alone.
