Sons Of Serendip was also on the AGT Champions series. Does anyone know if they were on the same week is Jackie, and thus this cooperation may have been arranged then? I was at The Cabot last night and that is exactly what Micah Christian said. They had talked during the AGT Champions.

I believe all the taping for all the performances must have been completed in a week's period and then edited for air, with cuts to audience and judge reactions, etc. Every performer did two performances each time to allow for plenty of scope to choose the best camera angles. My point being that people may have been in the theater at the same time, but there wasn't much time for socializing backstage unless it had been set up by their agents ahead of time.

But Mike E could have spoken to the SoS's agent assuming they have one.

It would be very unusual for them to have arranged a professional engagement, some 4 months in the future, BTW, on a handshake without a contract being written in the interim. But then why weren't they advertised? Very strange. And whether they were advertised or not, they performed and were paid, either by the theater or by Jackie out of her fee. The only other thing I can think of is that they were visiting family in the area, between concerts, and The Cabot gave their agent a call and asked them to help out, with the promise of solo concerts in the future.

The Sons of Serendipity's lead singer is from Randolph, MA (I used to go there as Randolph had a great hair stylist who used to be in downtown Boston until she got tired of the rat race and moved out to the suburbs) and they all went to grad school at Boston University for music. SOS has an upcoming appearance in Milton, MA this coming Saturday, March 2nd, so they probably were in the area. They could have compared notes and decided to see if something could be arranged. Lucky for us at the concert, it happened. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BTW, BU has an excellent program in Music, Theater and Visual Arts. They offer a Bachelor of Music in Performance: "The Performance program is offered in eight areas: Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, Piano, Collaborative Piano, Organ, and Voice. Performance majors combine performance studies with courses in theory, musicology, pedagogy, and related music studies. Each student is assigned to a teacher with whom they study individually during their degree program. The Historical Performance program is available for those seeking instruction on period instruments or baroque style." To get the degree one must: - Satisfactory completion of all courses in the chosen program of study, as prescribed by the School of Music
- Completion of a minimum of 132 credits (please refer to the Boston University Residency Requirement policy)
- Demonstration of proficiency in all technical and professional courses, including satisfactory recitals at the junior and senior levels (for performance majors) and a recital of original compositions (for composition majors)
Maybe they were trying to recruit Jackie for BU? www.bu.edu/cfa/music/BU also has an Opera Institute: www.bu.edu/cfa/opera/And a program specifically for Voice: www.bu.edu/cfa/academics/find-a-degreeprogram/music/voice/BU is near the following other schools for Music. And these Universities are some of the overall best in the world (such as Harvard and MIT). Many one can take a course while going to the other school: 1) www.berklee.edu/2) longy.edu/about/3) www.bc.edu/bc-web/schools/mcas/departments/music.html4) bostonconservatory.berklee.edu/about5) www.brandeis.edu/music/6) music.fas.harvard.edu/7) mta.mit.edu/music8) necmusic.edu/president (this is the oldest independent music school in the US) 9) camd.northeastern.edu/music/10) www.simmons.edu/academics/undergraduate-programs/music11) as.tufts.edu/music/12) www.umb.edu/academics/cla/performarts

For all the numbnuts that classify Jackie as an opera singer, this truely shows there is no opera there. Compare any big fat guy or any other wanna be ND singer, that think they are a singer of any class, she makes this into a beautiful ballad. Melts the soul. As my piano player and I used to say after a number, that's a "Big Ender'. www.facebook.com/peter.tai3/videos/2286319601387746/?epa=SEARCH_BOX
