Just got my Balcony ticket, left side a few rows back. I'm both gratified and annoyed it nearly sold out so quickly! Have we decided where to eat, before the show? All right - it's now only a month away! Is anybody else from here going or is it only the three of US?? Catmando? bastet?? ANYBODY??? As near as I remember, I've only been in Lufkin TWICE, driving through both times on my way somewhere else - the only place we stopped was at IHOP in the middle of the night, mainly because it was right along our route, and more importantly, OPEN. There is a Ralph & Kacoo's Seafood right across the street, Hwy 59, from the college which is just south of town. There are at least a dozen good places, some maybe not so good, from town to the college. Just stay on 59. Also, a mall, Sam's, Academy, and other places to walk around. And a few hotels just south of the college. While writing this, it took me back to the nearly a hundred time I drove from Arkansas to Houston. Shreveport two hours, Lufkin two hours, Houston two hours.. My most memorable recalls was stopping in the metro of Tenaha to use the pay phone to call the office. (Millennials would say 'What?') There are more logging trucks than people there. East Texas always has some dude selling stuff out of the back of his truck. Boiled peanuts, tamales, fresh veggies, fresh shrimp from the coast. Yum 30+ years several times a year - I do not miss that trip.

Just called the box office about the availability for better seats. She said they have two lists. One for already bought tickets and looking for upgrades. (First to be called) And one for waiting list for good seats to open up. You guys may want to call Christie. Use the 633 number from the first post not the 639 number from the second post.

Have been to the Ralph & Kacoo's at Shreveport before and liked it; the only trouble for some *might* be that it's relatively expensive and since it's Cajun seafood that also might be limiting - personally I have NO trouble and endorse the suggestion! I live in Northeast Texas and as I remember Lufkin's about two hours from me; we actually plan on arriving the day before and spending two nights there.

I have no objection to Cajun, especially that close to the venue. I have noticed Hwy 59 has limited crossovers, so we might want to keep that in mind for navigation reasons. I'm going to have to do a U-turn a block out of my way, just to get to and from my hotel! LOL

Will it only be Mike, myself, and you, or are the others posting here coming too? The concert starts at 7:30 so I suppose we should meet up at R&C's around 5 or 5:30 then?

Act quick. Two seats together in row 5 (E) just popped up on the ticketing site. Also single seats in Row F and H. Maybe others showing up.
This was a tricky one, having mostly sold out except to season subscribers. We had to buy single tickets, only to have seats together post last minute. No bad seats though. Super small venue.

A small venue worked out well for Jackie's audience at Lancaster, Kentucky about two years ago. The sound man could dial back the speakers. The sound was amazing.
You fans enjoy your concert tomorrow.
And your Cajun grub!
Good to see you Nick.

Mike & I have arrived at the Best Western which is next door to Ralph & Kacoo's and across the highway from Angelina College - tomorrow we'll backtrack to Nacodoches and should have plenty of time to meet at 5 or 5:30. Nick, will you be joining us, I hope?

Well, Mike and I seem to have "lucked out"! We went by the theatre this afternoon just to check out the venue, parking, etc. and because there were no posters, marquee, or handbills announcing tonight's event I went inside the lobby just to make sure everything was on schedule. I asked several questions of the lady in the ticket booth including the size of the auditorium (approximately 900 she said) and how many seats remained to be sold. She said there were only about thirty seats left, mostly ones that had been returned by season subscribers, for whom almost the entire lower level was reserved, including two ON THE FRONT ROW. It was a big twenty dollars to upgrade BOTH of our front row balcony seats for those!
